I will give Amazon credit….they do have an impressive lineup of films in their Prime section…..l noticed EFNY & “Mad Max” are Prime watch films in the mix…..they mainly have independent films like them & mostly films from Paramount & Warner Bros…. I actually gave “Batman & Robin” another look….l don’t think it is as bad as people make it out to be…..Arnold Schwarzenegger was clearly having fun as Mr. Freeze & Uma Thurman & Alicia Silverstone were eye candy… & George Clooney l thought did ok as Batman/Wayne A psychedelic mind f*ck of a film no doubt…but it really is a live action comic book. Uma Thurman is another Weinstein victim….she finally came out & said that he raped her in a hotel room in 1994 when she was filming “Pulp Fiction”….she said she despised him & that is what he liked about raping actresses…..he went after those that would never be interested in him… & that is exactly what Lysette said too….it was a dominant power trip with him….it was more about the control than the sex! I may just have to give that one a watch again? I saw it in the theater on opening weekend but haven't seen it again since and really do not remember much about it. I am currently watching "Raise the Titanic" and so far it's okay. I never saw it before and never bothered renting it out back in the day so I figured that I would give it a view. |

I decided to get “Superman III” after ignoring it for so long….my least favorite but it is still fun & l realized it isn’t that bad after all… Richard Pryor was funny & Annette O’ Toole was hot….she was Don Johnson’s ex wife on “Nash Bridges” & Nick Nolte’s girlfriend in “48 HRS” who had like two scenes… & if l remember correctly she goes topless in “Cat People”…..l think.. Such an underrated actress…. She gave a recent interview about “Superman III” about how Christopher Reeve was great to work with & that Richard Pryor was really nice to her & asked her how she was, was her family doing ok”….she said Richard was like a normal guy…no ego with him at all…just down to earth. |

I watched an old 80’s film on Amazon Prime last night that I had not seen in years …
“She’s Out of Control”(1989)
This is a film for any dad out there that has a daughter….l have a greater appreciation for this film now than l did when it came out…
Ami Dolenz was a complete knockout…
Any dad with a daughter will identity with this one & Tony Danza is a hoot as the unhinged dad..

Hey, Rock That film “Wanted Dead or Alive” is free on Amazon Prime (with ads) That is the one with Rutger Hauer as the bounty hunter & Gene Simmons as the international terrorist… I may have to give that one another look myself. I finally watched this one recently. Can't believe that I never saw it before until now. Great movie. Gene Simmons was definitely a slimy villain that you just love to hate. And of course, Rutger Hauer is the man as always. |

They say “Furosia” is already being pulled from theatres….
Streaming is going to kill Cinemas….they have gotten too expensive…the prices to see a film is pretty much the price to buy on Blu ray or DVD…why not wait??
Hey, Rock….have you seen “Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny” yet??
I have re-evaluated this one & l have to admit l like it better than Crystal Skull”…..it is hard to watch one of Cinema’s greatest heroes age & grow old & this one really touches on aging & what it means to us…
I have found myself watching this one again & again & the criticism has been unfair….
It is a solid film & like the others it is just downright fun…the last 30 minutes will have you tearing up just a bit especially Karen Allen’s appearance in the final 10 minutes, to see her, Indy & Sallah in the same room again is emotional especially if you loved “Raiders of the Lost Ark”

This time 20 years ago in June 2004 we had a District manager that everyone feared…..he was a black man who even screwed black managers over….he was misogynistic as hell…treated women managers horribly….especially black women managers….they were treated worse….he would tell them their place was at their husbands side & on their knees & nothing more…l had never seen a man so feared in my life…it was like he was the devil himself……in 2010 he was forced into early retirement because a woman manager filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against him & it was settled out of court… Today we have a Division President that is a woman…..& many women in high profile positions that were once only going to men… I am now seeing transgender employees & none of us are allowed to make any kind of derogatory remarks or we will be disciplined with sensitivity classes… This wouldn’t have happened 20 years ago…..this was unheard of 20 years ago….. This would have been a slap in the face to the black misogynistic District Manager 20 years ago….just answering to a woman Division President would have been an insult to him… That is how much has changed in 20 years. |

It is 2 1/2 hrs so l didn’t have time to watch it last night…will try to watch this coming week….will let you know if it is any good….
I was surprised to see it on there so soon.
It seems the streaming services are pulling the crap cable TV used to pull…..certain channels obtaining the rights to certain studio films…
Disney+ & Hulu have all the Disney/Touchtone/Hollywood pictures, Columbia Pictures & all of 20th Century Fox films
Netflix has mostly Universal Pictures films
HBO/Max has mostly films from Warner Bros.
Amazon Prime mostly Paramount Pictures films.

Went & saw “Alien Romulus”……this one picks up right after the first “Alien” from 1979….was way better than l thought it would be….definitely a worthy addition & it even hints at being in the same universe as “Blade Runner”….
I was on the fence about going to see it, but l had seen all the others on the big screen why not this one….
But $20 to see a movie now….it was $15 last year when l saw “Dial of Destiny”……this is insane….
So now if a family of four go to the movies & get popcorn 🍿 & drinks they are probably looking at $100 at best….just to go to the movies…
No wonder films are not making their money back….people are like “fck this”

Which I proved him wrong on. At first Cameron thought an AVP movie would ruin the franchise and was leery about the idea. But later after having seen it admitted that he really liked it a lot. The guy called me a liar until I posted links to interviews with Cameron stating how he thought that it was actually pretty good, and he even ranked it as the 3rd best Alien movie in the franchise.  |

My mom actually took me to the theater back in the day to see it because she knew how much I wanted to see it. And "Aliens" is one of the best sequels ever made. But, I felt that "Prometheus" wasn't needed. A large part of the suspense of the original "Alien", at least in my opinion, was not knowing what happened to the Space Jockey and how it came to be there? Sometimes the worst horrors are best left to the imagination. All you need to know is that there are Xenomorphs out there, and you had better keep your head on a swivel and watch your ass, and figure a way how to take them out before they take you out. It's a simple premise. Kill, or be killed. Survival of the fittest. That's what works best in Horror movies. As for John Carpenter... His last movie wasn't bad. But, it just wasn't up to par with many of his past endeavors. I have actually been meaning to watch it again sometime to see if my views about it have changed since I last watched it. There have been times when I have watched a movie once and wasn't really thrilled about it. But, on a 2nd viewing enjoyed it a lot better. Maybe that's what I should do too with "Prometheus"? |

I finally watched “Furoisa” on Max…..
You will like this one Rock…..if you love “Fury Road” you will no doubt like this one….Chris Hemsworth hams it up as the lead bad guy….he puts Immorten Joe to shame…& tries to fuck Joe over every way he can….who makes several appearances in this one…
Anya Taylor Joy really embodies Furoisa….you find out how she loses a portion of her left arm & the last 15 minutes she looks like Charlize Theron totally in character….a true Prequel & this one ends where “Fury Road” begins….& there is a blink you miss it scene with Max & the Interceptor….l can’t believe no one has mentioned this….but again it is a blink you miss it 5 second scene….you know Max is around but laying low….that was a highlight for me….it actually has me wanting to watch “Fury Road”…..
You will not be disappointed Rock….even those bald albino dudes are in this one too.
