Lysettefan is back (again) In other Twitter news everyone is having a meltdown over Elon Musk bankrolling Gina Carano’s lawsuit against Disney….you would think Elon was Trump…what are they so worried about??🤣🤣 Not only that but the extreme radical lefties over on X are losing their freaking minds over Tucker Carlson's interview with Vladimir Putin! I mean, isn't that a journalist's job is to get both sides of the story? We've heard Zelensky's side for literally 2 years now in the Russia/Ukraine conflict, plus sent him billions of dollars in aid over the years. It's only fair that we should also hear Putin's side of the story as well, don't you think?

I watched the 1980 "Flash Gordon" movie again the other night. Man, it's been a long time since I've seen this last. And, I thought that it was better than ever! It's just a shame that we never got a sequel to it. Oh well. Still a fun movie all the same.

“Flash Gordon” has always been a favorite of mine & was really ahead of its time…..it came on the heels of “The Empire Strikes Back” in 1980 & l believe was overshadowed by it…..
In 1981 when VCR’s came to the market it was one of many that came out on VHS, George Lucas refused to allow “Star Wars” on VHS so “Flash Gordon” really filled that Sci-Fi void…..
Other Sci-Fi releases at the time …
Buck Rogers (pilot movie) Battlestar Galactica The Black Hole
The reason it never got a sequel was because producer Dino DeLaurentis & Sam J. Jones could not get along….it was really bad so bad that Jones simply left London after filming was finished & refused to come back for pickup shots, so Dino dubbed his voice in the film….Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote about Dino in his book about how Dino wanted him fired from Conan because Arnold had actually auditioned for 76’s “King Kong” where he was considered for the Jeff Bridges role…..Arnold called him a short little man & Dino had him escorted out of the building… Arnold’s agent threatened a lawsuit if he was fired from Conan…
Simply put Dino DeLaurintis was a real prick to people, even Timothy Dalton once said he would never work for Dino again.
Kurt Russell was also offered the part & turned it down to do “Escape From New York” which came six months later…..Kurt later said that he didn’t like Dino & knew he would not be able to work with him so he chose EFNY instead because he had already worked with Carpenter on the 1979 Elvis movie.

Oh, you just reminded me of "The Black Hole"! That is one of my favorites. I am going to get my copy out and watch it soon. There was talk years ago that Disney was going to do a remake of it, but it never happened. That was one remake that I was actually excited about and looking forward to seeing.

Watched "Thor: Ragnarok" again last night. Such a great movie! Do yourself a favor and don't miss this one. It's at the top of one of Marvel's best films."Thor: Ragnarok" Official Trailer
It is a fun movie & Jeff Goldblum was really having fun….he looked just like the comic book character so did Karl Urban & Cate Blanchett…. This one is running parallel to “Captain America Civil War” because if you will notice in that one no one knows where Thor & Hulk are. I finally finished the “Falcon & Winter Soldier” series on Disney+ It took me forever to get through those six episodes because the writing was terrible….this had so much potential & they just don’t have it anymore…… At least when l write a story l try to stick to the source material….that didn’t happen here…you have Wyatt Russell (Kurt & Goldie’s son) as the new Captain America that is doing unethical things….basically the show is a wokefest……there is scene where a cop wrongly assumes that Falcon is bothering Bucky….l mean they just couldn’t resist playing the race card..😤 I mean the pacing was so off….you are just waiting for something exciting to happen…😤……”Captain America Winter Soldier” this is NOT!!!….it doesn’t even scratch the surface of that one… Marvel films really succeeded on the strength of the veteran actors & writers early on….. Robert Downy Jr. Jeff Bridges Mickey Rourke Anthony Hopkins Renee Russo Idris Elba Samuel L. Jackson Robert Redford Scarlett Johansson Ben Kingsley Jeff Goldbum Cate Blanchett All anchored their films with their years of talent & that is what is really missing today with Marvel.

I have started binge watching “Miami Vice” on Blu Ray…..l used to have it on DVD but there was no restoration on DVD……so l didn’t keep it…..however there were some favorites that l wanted to get back so this time l got on Blu Ray…..& man this is ten times better than the DVD versions…..
Mill Creek bought the rights from Universal & have completely restored this show to pristine greatness….the colors are rich & vibrant & the show looks almost like a new show today looks….l can’t get over how awesome it looks on Blu Ray….the restoration is flawless….my only complaint was they forgot to restore the pilot episode to greatness….but every episode since has been restored to the highest standards…it is so much more enjoyable because it now looks newer……
Almost done with Season One….the first two were the best…
It had a lot of then unknown stars that appeared in it as well as a few known stars
Ed O’Neill (Al Bundy)as a DEA agent
Bruce Willis (as a arms dealer & wife beater)Bruce would go on to “Moonlighting” months later.
Liam Neeson (as a IRA mercenary)
Wesley Snipes (can’t remember who he was at the moment)
Melanie Griffith….Don Johnson’s then wife (Dakota’s mother)as Sulu’s prized call girl
George Takei (Sulu) (as a arms dealer & pimp) Vanity (Sulu’s squeeze) Kelly Lynch (murdered porn star)
Stanley Tucci (Drug Lord)
Sheena Easton (Crocket love interest) Julia Roberts (Crockett love interest)
Brian Dennehy (corrupt preacher) James Tolkan (Mr Strickland) as a corrupt preacher
Willie Nelson (a former Texas Ranger) Jeff Fahey (arms dealer)
Pam Grier (Jackie Brown) as Tubbs’ old girlfriend
Julian Beck (crooked banker) Joe Biden clone 🤣
Ted Nugent (a husband who along with his wife are scamming men & Crockett becomes a target)….probably my all time favorite episode……titled “Definitely Miami” from Season 2. This episode has probably really happened to men….a cautionary tale to say the least…..makes dating kind of scary…

I would really hate to think that Amourath is engaging in this kind of thing….if you will remember awhile back she claimed to have an abusive husband…..& it just came out recently that she is worth millions….can a content creator make that kind of money??
Not something l would be bragging about….if l am an IRS agent she is getting audited….not smart to reveal that…
Let’s hope her & her abusive husband are not engaging in “Definitely Miami”……surely not….but when she spoke about her husband being abusive it made me think of that “Miami Vice” episode.

Hey, Rock
That pic you posted of Kurt Russell as a kid meeting Charles Bronson made me remember something Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote in his book….he had a similar experience…
He said it was in the mid 70’s that he had gone to his first awards show after dinner party & saw Bronson sitting at a table & approached him & spoke to him to which Bronson replied “I am not very good at small talk” to which Arnold felt intimidated but then he said that Bronson looked at him & said
“You want to make it in this business you to do films that require very little dialogue & let your facial expression do the talking” “you do that & you will be a star”
Arnold then said Bronson turned away from him & that he took that to heart when he got the “Conan” role
Arnold said after “The Terminator” came out he got a call from Bronson who had just seen the film & said
“You listened to me” “congratulations” “your world is about to change forever”
Arnold wrote “when you get a call from one of your heroes congratulating you you know you have made it”

The 3-pack version of mine is different from this one. My Blu-ray packaging has an all blue background that matches the case. I think it looks cooler in all blue. Where I purchased it I couldn't tell you though? Maybe at Walmart. This was years ago. But, it only cost me $10 bucks so I said, why not? As for the Commies, yeah, they seem to be everywhere and in every facet of our lives. God help us, and may God bless America.

Hey! Here's an idea... Let's make it a mutual movie night tonight together. I am going to watch Disney's 1979 Sci-fi horror classic "The Black Hole" tonight. If you own or have streaming access to this movie, watch it tonight. And later we can all compare notes together to see if it still holds up.The Black Hole | Unofficial Official Trailer | Disney+

I actually watched this one awhile back….l think it still holds up….the visual effects were really ahead of their time in 1979……Reinhardt’s ship is still the creepiest interstellar ship ever put on screen…..the hellish vision at the end was frightening then & still is…..l can’t think of a film since that gives what may be a accurate depiction of hell…… Disney made this film to capitalize on the “Star Wars” craze at the time….it was just one week after “Star Trek Motion Picture” came out…. My dad took me to see both on my birthday Dec 22 in 1979…… Star Trek first then The Black Hole…….remember like it was yesterday.

It is one of those movies that people seem to either like or hate. It is a very dark and eerie story though, for kids especially. Disney really took a chance with this one. Aside from the cheesy robots such as Vincent, and Old Bob, it still holds up pretty well. It has an excellent cast, amazing special effects and set designs, and props. You're right about the Cygnus. That is one creepy ship. The Maximillian robot was pretty menacing and terrifying too. I can imagine that a lot of children who saw it got the crap scared out of them by him. I may just have to get this one on Blu-ray if it is available? My DVD copy is just a bare bones copy with no extras besides a trailer. I would like to see some commentaries and behind the scenes footage, and a making of documentary about it.

Almost done with “Miami Vice”……Seasons 1 & 2 were the best…..3 & 4 are so so……there are some stand out episodes but most are terrible & l am not even bothering with Season 5…..
I forgot Issac Hayes made an appearance…yep The Duke was on the show & Sonny Landham (Billy in “Predator”) as well as Richard Chaves (Poncho) & Bill Paxton also made appearances….everyone wanted to be on this show back then.

Hey, Rock
That film “Wanted Dead or Alive” is free on Amazon Prime (with ads)
That is the one with Rutger Hauer as the bounty hunter & Gene Simmons as the international terrorist…
I may have to give that one another look myself.

I recently watched "Judge Dredd" again starring Sylvester Stallone from 1995 on Blu-ray and thought that it was awesome! I seriously cannot understand how this movie flopped at the box office? It had everything that a summer blockbuster should have, action, adventure, interesting and provocative characters. The set designs, costumes, and special effects were outstanding! It's a shame that we never got a sequel to this one.Judge Dredd (1995) Trailer #1 | Movieclips Classic Trailers

To much competition….it came out the same day as “Apollo 13” & two weeks after “Batman Forever”….at that time Jim Carrey & Tom Hanks were all the rage….plus “Die Hard with a Vengeance” & Mel Gibson’s “Braveheart” was still doing box office numbers even though they had been out a month……I went & saw it but l don’t remember a lot of marketing on it…l remember Sly on Jay Leno promoting it…but l don’t think Disney marketed it……plus everyone was talking about the upcoming “Waterworld” with Kevin Costner….it was like they couldn’t wait to see Costner fail……..that was all the talk back then…. At that time l had a subscription to “Entertainment Weekly” & even they ignored “Judge Dredd”.

I didn't realize how many big movies were released in theaters around the same time. I saw them all when they opened. Except for "Waterworld". I still haven't seen that one yet. I recently noticed that Amazon Prime has it available for streaming, so I guess I should probably watch that one soon?

I know…you think you are done & then you learn someone has found a way to get your money…🙄 I finally watched “Wanted Dead or Alive” on Prime the other night…. This was a sleeper hit that came on the heels of “The Hitcher” in 1986… I think people had a hard time seeing Rutger Hauer as a good guy… I had forgotten how good this one was & Gene Simmons was really having fun as the bad guy….very similar to his “Runaway” character…. I finally ended up buying this one….. Another good one to watch is “Burning Bright”(2010) about a tiger loose in a house that has Briana Evigan as a young woman trying to elude the tiger…edge of your seat suspense stuff…. Briana is the daughter of Greg Evigan (BJ & the Bear)…..& she is hot!

I will give Amazon credit….they do have an impressive lineup of films in their Prime section…..l noticed EFNY & “Mad Max” are Prime watch films in the mix…..they mainly have independent films like them & mostly films from Paramount & Warner Bros….
I actually gave “Batman & Robin” another look….l don’t think it is as bad as people make it out to be…..Arnold Schwarzenegger was clearly having fun as Mr. Freeze & Uma Thurman & Alicia Silverstone were eye candy… & George Clooney l thought did ok as Batman/Wayne
A psychedelic mind f*ck of a film no doubt…but it really is a live action comic book.
Uma Thurman is another Weinstein victim….she finally came out & said that he raped her in a hotel room in 1994 when she was filming “Pulp Fiction”….she said she despised him & that is what he liked about raping actresses…..he went after those that would never be interested in him… & that is exactly what Lysette said too….it was a dominant power trip with him….it was more about the control than the sex!
