Makes you wonder how conservatives like Clint Eastwood & Kurt Russell have survived Hollywood the last 4 decades..... Clint has too much star power & Kurt came from a acting family.....maybe that is it.....but yeah, you have to wonder if Hollywood has always been this bad.... Shane Black (Hawkins in "Predator") wrote the first "Lethal Weapon" & created Mel & Danny Glover's characters....the first film was gritty & serious whereas the second one would have been darker but Black's script was rejected by WB for being too violent & was rewritten, I think the second one suffered because of Black not being involved, to think that Lysette could have been in it irks me to no end, at least if she had been in it I could overlook the less than gritty feel of the first film... "Lethal Weapon 2" did get some things right....it was Joe Pesci's first appearance as Leo Getz who was comic relief Mark Rolston (Drake) & Jeanette Goldstein (Vasquez) from "Aliens" are in it, but their characters die, had Lysette been in it her character would have died as well.. See...that is why people don't need to give up DVD's & Blu ray......what good is a streaming service like "Netflix" if you can't find a classic like "Lethal Weapon" on there.....you can however buy all four films together on blu ray on Amazon for $12.99... In 2002...Marvel Comics published a alternate version of "A New Hope" called "Infinities"  for "Star Wars"....where Luke misses the Death Star's exhaust port & a new reality is formed.....I got to looking at it awhile back & thought it was very similar to my alternate "Return of the Jedi" story that I wrote back in March....I have thought about posting it on Twitter to agitate the fan boys.....but nah....I will post it here instead if anyone wants to read it.... It gives Reva & the Grand Inquisitor a fitting end (Obi-Wan Kenobi) & Darth Maul & Quira (Solo) a fitting end as well & sets up Cad Bane for his appearance in "Book of Boba Fett" & Thrawn in "Ahsoka" & sets up "The Force Awakens" & "Rise of Skywalker" somewhat as well...it also introduces Mara Jade & Talon Karrde as well....no Ewoks or second Death Star but it does make a reference to another Death Star that was revealed in the "Jedi Academy" Trilogy of books published back in the 90's... I did keep many of "Return of the Jedi's" more emotional moments in this alternate version....you may like it, you may hate it....either is fine with me... Return of the Jedi.txt (93.24 KB) |

Yep. I just got a new Blu-ray player recently. Well, it wasn't "New" new, but used at a thrift store. It was basically new though because it even had all of the protective adhesive plastic all over it. It did not come with a remote controller though. But I took a chance on it anyway for 12 bucks, and then purchased a universal remote controller on Amazon for only $8 bucks and it plays beautifully. So, $20 dollars for a Blu-ray player is a pretty good deal to me. |

It can play 3D Blu-rays too, but you need to also have a 3D tv in order for it to do that. Years ago I used to work a part-time job to earn some extra money by doing housekeeping/janitorial work in the evenings cleaning office buildings. One of the places that I cleaned at was for a company that did advertising for the latest Hollywood movies. This place would throw out dozens of perfectly good movie posters of the latest movies every week. I used to take them home with me and hang them up on my walls. I wish that I had kept them but lord only knows what I ended up doing with them? Two of them that I can clearly remember were the original movie posters for "The Terminator", and "Commando" both starring the rising star back then, Arnold Schwarzenegger . Man, I wish I had kept those posters. But, back then, I was young and dumb back then. |

She must have seen my comments on here……l am on to her & she knows it……the more l think about it the more l am convinced it is Bittersweet….she tried to sabotage me & Star…
As soon as Lysette herself rejoined Twitter & responded to my tweets almost a year ago that is when lysettefan showed up….not before but after….then she posted that sex scene Lysette did in “Save Me” which pissed Lysette off…..& put me in the middle….luckily Lysette is a forgiving person….trying to sabotage any kind of interaction with her…..sound familiar??
Now maybe l am being ridiculous & a bit paranoid….but lysettefan’s pattern of behavior is consistent with Bittersweet!

Those were the days….if they only knew what was coming that day…. I remember the LaserDisc…..l actually had a player back in the early 90’s……LaserDisc we’re cool……of course you had to turn it over to watch the rest of a movie….but the quality was miles above VHS…. DVD killed the LaserDisc ☹️😢 |

ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK - Commentary By John Carpenter & Kurt Russell
Pretty interesting commentary…..given the budget they had l have to say they really recreated a cool desolate New York…. Any time l write a story with an already established character l try to maintain the integrity of the character…. Snake Plissken is no doubt an underated anti-hero character that many people today don’t know….. Everyone knows who Tony Montana is…..but not Snake Plissken it seems…. I don’t know if you read the “Ray Quick & Dutch 3 & 4” stories that l posted but in Pt. 4 l tried to make Snake & Max’s cameo appearance a throwback to the films….yes, they would be the age Mel & Kurt are now but age never stopped Clint Eastwood from being bad ass! For instance Max & Snake are protecting Taria from men sent to kill her & Max chases one of the bad guys on a motorcycle in a new customized Dodge Challenger in which Snake says “I take it you have done this before” to which Max replies “you could say that” If it were a film the critics would call it fan service…..what is wrong with that..😁 |

He's just doing what he needs to do in life in order to survive. Without losing his dignity, life and soul in the process. Just try to imagine being in his shoes in this situation, which I suppose is what makes most action films so great, interesting and fun to watch. What would you do under the same circumstances if you found yourself in his place? |

It amazes me how little Kurt Russell aged from 1981 to 1996 with the sequel….
I know l took a few liberties with my EFNY Prequel & Sequel stories….but “Escape from L.A.” really took some liberties with the first film…
I remember as a kid in the summer of 1981 being at a theatre where there were four screens each playing
Escape from New York
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Clash of the Titans
Superman ll
My parents & l went to sent to see “Superman ll”
Then we went back the next weekend to see “Indy”
I so wanted to see EFNY but my mom wouldn’t let me…….l do remember seeing a group of guys coming out of EFNY all hyped up & carrying on about the film……they really liked it from the way they were acting…….I think the under dog character is always a favorite with moviegoers l think that is why “Die Hard” became a surprise hit….people love the underdog.
This was also the year that VCR’s came on the market & l remember my parents renting “Used Cars”…….you couldn’t convince me that Kurt Russell in that one was the Snake character……l was like no way….
His appearance was so different in “Used Cars” & EFNY was his next film….
It would be two years later in 1983 when we got cable that l finally saw it….it was one of the first films l saw on cable as well as those late night girly movies just as l was hitting puberty 😆
