This scene from "Superman II Donner Cut" is why this version is better....where Lois realizes who Clark really is....much better than the Niagra Falls scene... www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIMaaqe9LCk

Well, it looks as if Disney has made a "Predator" film since they now own FOX......I read the creators Jim & John Thomas have threatened a lawsuit because Disney never consulted them.....they are attempting to retain the rights since FOX is now owned by Disney.....the fact that Disney never consulted with them tells me it will probably suck.....I have stayed true to these characters in my stories.....I wonder if Disney has done the same......I really hope this is good......here is a teaser trailer... www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3s2vfci6j8

That's a great scene. I'm definitely going to have to get the Donner cut! The Donner Cut is better....but there are some scenes they should have kept in....the Paris scene is gone....General Zod, Ursa & Non are now freed by the missle Superman sent into space from the first film. The Niagara Falls hotel room scene is gone as is the Mt. Rushmore scene. Pretty much all of the slapstick comedic moments throughout are removed... & Margot Kidder’s hair style is more consistent with the first film...they did keep a lot of Lester’s scenes for continuity purposes....but it is mostly what Donner shot.

I forgot to mention....Clark’s mother is not in the Donner cut....Marlon Brando is back in unseen footage.....the scene where Superman gives up his powers is more emotional as Joe-El attempts to persuade him from doing it....much more powerful than with the mom....even more so when Clark tries to get his powers back......it is shame Donner had to wait more than 25 years to realize his vision.....Brando threatened to sue if his likeness was used after the firing of Donner.....Gene Hackman simply refused to shoot scenes with Lester....lot of underhanded crap going on back then.....Richard Donner had the last laugh with the “Lethal Weapon” films while the Salkinds career crashed & burned.

Are there Donner cuts of both Superman I and II? I ordered a Blu-ray collection that has the original Superman, Superman II, and Superman Returns. It says that it includes the Donner cut, but I was wondering if there was more than one movie in the set that was a director's cut?

It says that it includes the Donner cut, but I was wondering if there was more than one movie in the set that was a director's cut? In 2001 when "Superman I" first came to DVD, Donner went back & added a few deleted scenes not in the theatrical version....it was his cut of the film.....that was the cut for Blu-ray as well....that is what you bought....."Superman II Donner cut" was done in 2006 with the release of "Superman Returns".....they found old film & revised it with Donner supervising the restoration.....because Donner never got to finish "II" a lot of footage was lost, but restored in the Donner cut.... all scenes with Gene Hackman & Marlon Brando were filmed by Donner.....Christopher Reeve & Margot Kidder hated the firing of Donner, Kidder was very vocal about her unhappiness with Donner's firing....so much that she later claimed she was punished in "Superman III" by having little screen time....... A few years ago the 3-hour version of "Superman I" that aired on ABC back in 1982 was released on DVD & possibly Blu-ray.....I never bothered with this version because I remember having it recorded on a VHS tape when it aired.....it is basically an extension of existing scenes......one example is when the green crystal builds the Fortress of Solitude & Clark makes his way to the crystal chamber......in the Donner version it doesn't take long for him to get there......in the ABC version it takes about a minute or too longer for him to get to the chamber.... Another is when Clark arrives in New York......Jimmy Olson is taking pictures of everyone in the office area.....in Donner's version it is less than a minute.....in the ABC version....about two to three minutes..... After we meet Lex, Otis & Tessmacher their conversations go a little longer in the ABC version where it is revealed that Lex has animals in a nearby elevator shaft, lions, dogs, aligators....I don't know....we never see them.....Donner totally omitted the scene in his cut & for good reason....it added nothing & was slapstick at best...... Donner's version is the best one....you got the right one along with the Donner cut for "II" & "Superman Returns" as a added bonus.. To my knowledge the original release of "Superman II" by Richard Lester has never been released by itself on Blu-ray......you can get it in the 4 film pack with "III & IV"....but it hasn't been properly restored or is sub-par on Blu-ray..... The first time I saw the Donner cut for "II" it felt a bit incomplete.....but on a second viewing I liked it better.....it has more of a realistic serious feel to it like the first film unlike the Lester theatrical version that has those comedic moments that seem out of place. Can't promise you will like the "Donner cut" better (I didn't at first) but you will see what Donner was going for......just seeing Brando as Jor-El again in "II" puts it more in line with the first film...when Superman fights Zod, Ursa & Non in downtown New York, it has more of a serious feel to it..... no slapstcik moments like the dogs barking when the wind is blowing, , the rollerskate dude, the guy talking on the phone that came apart, the woman taunting Lois at the window....all these scenes are gone. (thank god).

I finished the Eric Scully & Elektra story where they go on an assignment for "Shield".....picking up shortly after the events of "Ray Quick & Dutch 2" & right before the events of "Taria vs Sabine"....this one has a returning Nick Fury & Taria briefly answering for the Rome/Troy incident.....but the story quickly moves to Eric & Elektra trying to infiltrate former KGB operatives Mr.Bill & Mr.Smith & their henchman, a musclar dude, a woman & a dwarf....this is my tribute to the late great Rutger Hauer.. ..who would have been a cool Eric Scully.....can't picture anyone else as this character.....& Jennifer Garner is Elektra.. ..no one else is this character....still can't believe she was never given a better film with the MCU.....I have done her justice here.......lot of action & fun here.....

I finally did my subscription to Disney + yesterday....it was only $8.75 total.....not a bad deal....l watched the first 3 episodes of “Book of Boba Fett”.....when he escapes the Sarlicc he passes out...some Jawas show up & steal his armor & then some Tuskins find him & he develops a friendship with them after a few fights with them(similar to “Dances with Wolves).....the guy Cad Bane shoots (Timothy Olyphant) is the guy the Jawas sold the armor to as seen in “The Mandalorian”.....very consistent with the “Mandalorian” which is a good thing....& they have Jabba’s palace down to the detail....so far so good....two other Hutts show up with a mean Wookie as they try to oust Fett...which backfires....actor Danny Trejo is this guy who brings Fett a new rancor for the pit....who better than Trejo to show up with a rancor.
Obi-Wan premiers tomorrow....l will give you my verdict once l see it.

Finished “Book of Boba Fett” last night, overall pretty good....
If you like the old Disney classic films....they are on Disney+....
Some that l didn’t think would be there are available to watch from the 70’s
Kurt Russell’s Disney films are there The Herbie Love Bug Parent Trap Apple Dumpling Gang The Black Hole Old Yeller Witch Mountain
All their animated stuff
Only films missing are many of their Touchtone banner films
(Pretty Woman, Can’t buy me love, Cocktail, Tombstone & Con Air)
Definitely worth the money if you want to watch the old classics.

Only the first two episodes of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” were available....both episodes were great.....it respects the prequels....we see Leia as a child & the little girl playing her is just as feisty as the adult Leia....& is very believable as Pademe’s child....she looks like she could be Natalie Portman’s child....Jimmy Smits is back as Bail Organa & Joel Edgerton as Owen & Flea(Red Hot Chilli Peppers) is a bad guy bounty hunter....
This looks promising....Ewan McGregor once again nails Kenobi......a Jawa tries to outsmart him....the exchange between the two is funny....gotta love those Jawas.

Yeah, from what clips of it that I have seen, it looks like they did a nice job on this series. I have been watching interviews with Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor and I have to agree with them, the prequels were underrated when they first came out. I can still remember all of the hate online from a lot of Star Wars fans who absolutely trashed "The Phantom Menace". So much vitriol at the time of it's release. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Sure, it's not perfect and has it's flaws, but overall I really enjoyed it. Ewan McGregor: "The Prequels were underrated" | Agree to Disagree |

I didn’t get my first PC til 2001 two years after the TPM came out.....l never understood all the hate until 2001......& then again with AOTC the next year in 2002......it is like people have forgotten to enjoy films or something....
When TPM came out l was happily married with a two year old daughter.....l just wanted to feel like a kid again & the TPM satisfied that....l wasn’t annoyed with Jar Jar like so many other people were....my ex wife got a kick out of him..
I think Robert Zemeckis said it best when dealing with criticism over “Back to the Future ll”.......he said...
With the first film no one knows what it is about & everyone accepts it....but sequels are hard to pull off because everyone has their own perception of what they want to see”
He is right....probably why John Carpenter is not a fan of sequels.

I couldn't understand all of the hate for TPM at the time? It was exciting both visually and action wise. It had a great cast. The special effects were stunning. Sure, Jar Jar Binks annoyed me a little bit, but, so did the Ewoks in "Return of the Jedi", and I still love that movie. There are so many good things about "The Phantom Menace", such as the Pod Race, and the duel between Obi-Wan, Qui Gonn, and Darth Maul. I went to see it again years later when they released the 3D version of it in theaters, still have my Darth Maul 3D glasses from that night, and really enjoyed it. I was disappointed that they never re-released the rest of the movies in 3D. Apparently, TPM 3D flopped at the box office. Would have really liked to have seen the rest of the series in 3D on the big screen. Wish I could at least get a copy of TPM in 3D on Blu-ray.

Now these crybabies on Twitter are whining about the opening scene in “Obi-Wan Kenobi” which starts off in a flashback scene to the Clone Troopers attacking the Jedi Temple as seen in “Revenge of the Sith”.....did they not see the movie in 2005??......yes, it is reminiscent of what happened in Texas at that school, but this is a scene we didn’t see in “Revenge of the Sith” which came out 17 years ago.....it is not like they just came up with this...
Now these crybabies are demanding Disney cut the scene......l hope they don’t do this because it shows some younglings getting away one likely being Reva the black inquisitor after Obi-Wan...
God help these crybabies in the real world!!!

That's the reason why George Lucas passed on doing the sequels to Star Wars and sold the rights to Disney, because of all of the hate and criticism that he received from a lot of the fans over his prequel films. Can't say that I hardly blame him. But, the generation who grew up with the prequels absolutely loved them, which is good to hear. So nice seeing the Prequels getting the respect they deserve.....it has to feel good for Hayden who was unfairly criticized as Anakin....there is some cringe with him in “Ep ll”....but l thought he was awesome in “Revenge of the Sith”
I have gotten almost 40 likes for calling out the nonsense with people attacking the “Obi-Wan” show....some have disagreed but so far no personal attacks...
Since l now have Disney+ l gave “Black Widow” a look...it was good maybe in the first 45 min.....but then it went into “woke” mode....simply put l was disappointed....Scarlett as usual was good as Natasha Romanoff.....but the writing was terrible.....it added nothing to her character....she is being chased early on by Taskmaster & puts up a good fight...but then it is revealed that Taskmaster is a woman....the men are all stupid in this....l was hoping for backstory on Natasha....maybe like how she became a Shield agent....Nope...there is very little reference to that...this movie was a woke fest...she has a sister who is not really her biological sister who is going to seek out Hawkeye in the post credit scene because she blames him for Natasha dying....ridiculous....l really wanted to like this one but it was all over the place......it really added nothing to her character...it starts off with her as child who finds out her family was not her real family & that she had no real family....the bad guy here took her as a child & made her into this lethal fighter....not exactly the kind of history you would expect from a beloved character.....another character ruined.

This show is definitely carrying a lot of emotional weight especially with Ewan’s portrayal of Obi-Wan especially when he sees Darth Vader....he has this fear in his eyes because he knows he left Anakin for dead & it is like his past has come back to haunt him....Ewan plays that fear to perfection.

The “Sin City” sequel plays sort of like a prequel to the first one....Mickey Rourke once again is Marv & hasn’t missed a beat between the 9 year gap....if you like the original “Sin City” then “A Dame to kill for” is more of the same....don’t know why it didn’t do better.....sadly they had to replace Clive Owen with Josh Brolin & ninja girl Devon Akoi with another Asian actress...
The movie “Unhinged” is definitely a cautionary tale of where we are headed as a society....crowded cities, people being left behind economically...
Russell Crowe plays a recently divorced guy who like most guys was screwed out of his livelihood & has lost his humanity & is past the point of no return....he kills the woman’s divorce lawyer as she too is in the mist of a divorce as he taunts her after she angers him...he promises her a bad day & man does he ever deliver on that promise....it is road rage on steroids....It is free to watch on Amazon Prime if you are a Prime member.

I was reading this article on my sweet Lysette from her now ex live in boyfriend with whom she has a son who is now 18......according to him she had that Amber Heard vibe going on.....something about him saying to her that maybe she is experiencing menopause....this was 2010.....Lysette would have been 47 at the time.....not sure that is a wise thing to say to a woman....but anyway he goes on to say that she became enraged at him & started throwing stuff at him, even calling the London police on him to which he was carted off for domestic abuse even though according to him she never said he was abusive....when he was released & returned home, they argued some more to which according to him she stepped out on a ledge & threatened to jump to which he called the London police to which he was carted off again, she later claimed she never intended to jump, she just wanted to mind fuck him, he also claimed she was having an affair & that the other guy admitted it to him, she denied it....he should have done what I did....get pictures fool!!.. he is composer Simon Boswell & although their relationship was nowhere as bad as Depp & Heard, it sounds like it had its craziness.......since being diagnosed with Parkinsons Lysette herself has said "we really made a mess of things".....gee you think..... You are probably asking....what is your point Roman?? My point is.....people really do bring out the worst in each other, especially celebrities......why is it this happens?......I go back to God's sense of humor.... "You two love each other"....mmmmm "well we are going to see about that aren't we" My sweet Lysette is said to be writing a tell all book.....can't wait to read it
