“Enterprise” does kinda get off to a slow start....but after the first few episodes it picks up momentum....season 2 is better than season 1 but what l like about “Enterprise” is we see Captain Archer making all the mistakes that Kirk & Picard didn’t have to make.....they are sometimes ill equipped to handle the hostility of some alien characters, they don’t have shields yet & you realize why the Prime Directive was necessary in Kirk & Picard’s time, Archer had a bad habit of interfering with other cultures....& the Vulcans are not very likable in this time....the transporter is fairly new & everyone is afraid of it which is how l think anyone would be if such technologies were fairly new. Linda Park who plays communications officer Hoshi Sato has to be the hottest Asian woman on the planet.. & Jolene Blalock as Vulcan T’Pol is easy on the eyes too.. Chief Engineer Charles Trip Tucker is fun to watch...he has that no nonsense screw you attitude when challenged by others. I just might try to give "Enterprise" another chance? I will check and see if it is available for streaming over at Netflix. |

One thing "Enterprise" did real well was stay true to the lore & the film "First Contact".....if you remember when Picard & Co. follow the Borg back in time they destroy the round sphere shooting at Earth, some of the debree fell to Antarctica & two Borg were found buried in the ice (similar to "The Thing") & recovered as the science researchers are soon assimualted as the Borg steal a Federation freighter only to be later intercepted by Captain Archer & his crew...the episode is "Regeneration" toward the end of Season 2... www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFHPuE79GAgwww.youtube.com/watch?v=sC7o3EvpnZ8 |

Finally finished “Enterprise” Season 3.....this was an action packed season, it is clear that they wanted to do “Wrath of Kahn” style type action & l think they did a pretty good job for the most part....however like most shows the people behind the first three seasons had little to do with the last season & it shows when l think about it....may have to write my own ending to this one too...
Did you ever finish the second part of the Vikings/Barbarians/Predators story, Rock?
Those reptilian dudes in Enterprise make the Predators look pretty.....

Finally finished “Enterprise” Season 3.....this was an action packed season, it is clear that they wanted to do “Wrath of Kahn” style type action & l think they did a pretty good job for the most part....however like most shows the people behind the first three seasons had little to do with the last season & it shows when l think about it....may have to write my own ending to this one too... Did you ever finish the second part of the Vikings/Barbarians/Predators story, Rock? Those reptilian dudes in Enterprise make the Predators look pretty..... those Reptilian dudes were ugly as hell. Not yet, I still have a couple more chapters yet to read. I should get around to finishing it later today. |

I watched the film “The Founder” last night with Michael Keaton as Ray Kroc who took the McDonalds restaurant & turned it into a global mega corporation in the late 50’s....two brothers started the chain & were reluctant to expand but eventually agreed to let Ray expand their business which resulted in arguing where Ray wanted to be more innovative whereas the brothers were more content with playing it safe, Ray almost lost everything before investing in real estate where he would own the restaurant locations he built ultimately giving him control of the restaurant’s future, he eventually bought out the two brothers & made McDonalds what it is today, this is a complex movie, on the one hand you understand the brothers wanting simplicity, where on the other hand you understand Ray’s need for survival in the cutthroat business world, as Ray says in the film “business is war” “only the persistent survives”....
We see Ray struggle early on as a milkshake salesman being turned away at every turn & when he finds success with the restaurant we can’t really blame him for being ruthless.
Awesome movie....Michael Keaton once again delivers a great performance.

I took another look at the “Jenny & Dallas in Vegas” story that l wrote exactly a year ago this week, the part where Rusty Nails is taunting Jenny about how her father Max & his partner Goose could never catch him got me to thinking about a potential story idea.....we never really got to see Max & Goose working together to bring down some bad guys in “Mad Max”...we only saw them arrest Johnny the boy....
It got me to thinking, how would Max & Goose deal with Rusty Nails, naturally they would never catch him for continuity reasons, however it would be one hell of a chase.....l have this idea where a woman is trying to get away from Rusty & seeks Max & Goose’s protection....this would be one year after the “Bandit meets Rusty” story & two years before the events of “Mad Max”......likely the year 1977......plus Apollo stayed behind in the “Bandit/Rusty Nails” story.....”Battlestar Galactica” needs a proper ending too.....stay tuned...

Yep, people like Otto existed 1,000 years ago, some forms of executions were more horrific, the Barbarians & even Vikings would cut a victim down their torso & expose the ribs while the victim was still alive, horrific stuff....l couldn’t write that in the story....l just couldn’t do it....the other form of course was crusifixtion.....although no longer used in places like Rome & Jerusalem by the 6th century, the practice was still used in England til about 1100 A.D. |

I am now writing the Max/Goose vs Rusty Nails story set in 1977.....you could say it is a damsel in distress story where Max & Goose have save a woman from deranged trucker Rusty Nails, but she is also being pursued by her former gang member boyfriend who is a member of the Duke’s gang in New York....since this takes place before the events of “Escape From New York”....& it doesn’t end well for him & his gang member pals....
I actually watched the third “Joyride” film the other night, although better than the second film, still nowhere near as good as the first.....instead of keeping with the suspense element of the first film, they go for the cheap “Saw” ripoff...
Rusty Nails is one mean dude.

Speaking of Rusty Nails, I finished the "Max/Goose vs Rusty Nails" story.....this is a follow up to the "Bandit vs Rusty Nails" story & a prequel to the original "Mad Max" film, we never saw Goose & Max in action together, in this story we do as they are investigating the murder of a girl found dead on the road, this story has two girls fleeing New York as one is being pursued by her thug ex-boyfriend who is a member of the Duke's gang as they all cross paths with murdering truck driver Rusty Nails, Sheba from "Battlestar Galactica" returns to retrieve Apollo who stayed behind in the "Bandit vs Rusty" story, I didn't put to much focus on a "Galactica" ending because I wanted to keep the story focused on Max & Goose, the two girls, the thug ex boyfriend & Rusty Nails.....lots of action here & some nudity with the girls, now before you feminists throw knives at me, you have to remember this is set in the year 1977, before the events of "Mad Max"....I kept the nature of the exploitation films of the 70's intact....I wrote Max & Goose just as they are in "Mad Max".....because of continuity reasons they don't catch Rusty Nails, but he gives them one hell of a chase & is just as nasty as ever...

So the “Top Gun” sequel is finally coming Memorial Day weekend....l am not a big fan of the original film....but this one looks better...& it has Jennifer Connolly....she alone is reason enough to see this one 😁😎

Amber Heard gave damaging testimony yesterday about Johnny Depp....if you are going to lose a kingdom over a woman this is the one isn’t it....all things considered....Amber Heard is still a hot woman....can’t blame Depp for wanting to be with her.....but man, talk about two egos run amok.....lt is a miracle they didn’t kill each other.....Depp refused to look at her...makes me wonder if he is guilty...l would at least look at her as if to say “why are you doing this to me”....he would not even look at her....who knows....the jury will have to decide...

I saw a possible spoiler for “Obi-Wan Kenobi”.....it looks as if he is going to once again fail.....possible spoilers below...
A Jedi who escaped Order 66 is going to flee to Tattoonie & will be pursued inquisitors where they will sense Obi-Wan & Luke
The black inquisitor shown prominently in the trailers is going to attempt to kill Luke as a child but has a change of heart & lets him live & will then attempt to kill Vader & will be killed by Vader in a duel....basically she will be the savior....
Again....this is just a rumored plot....but knowing Kathleen Kennedy....it is probably true.

I was looking at the “Infinity War” story l wrote & it occurred to me that l never did a Eric Scully(Rutger Hauer) adventure with him as a “Shield” agent....looks like that will be my next one....set in the year 2006 right after the events of “Ray Quick & Dutch Pt. 2”.....with Eric & Jennifer Garner’s Elektra.....lets face it Garner is never going to play this character again....Elektra needs a decent story....who better than Eric for her to have an adventure with.......l used to really look foward to what Hollywood was going to give us...now l have to look foward to what l can create because Hollywood is creatively bankrupt....why didn’t Jennifer Garner ever get a decent “Elektra” film for the MCU?....leave it to me to do what they won’t do......stay tuned...
