I have not watched "Star Trek Discovery" but they have cast the beautiful Mia Kerschner as Spock's mother, Sarek's wife Amanda & just like Alice Eve looked liked a younger Carol Marcus, Mia definately looks like a younger Jane Wyatt who played Spock's mother in "Star Trek IV Voyage Home"....at least they got that one right....Mia was also one who claimed Harvey Weinstein tried to rape her in a hotel room.....she was also a female assassin in "24" which was my inspiration for creating the Taria Ambrose character.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=5veV6VtAV-kShe's cute, but... Since when is there a United Earth?....it was always the United Federation of Planets....l haven’t watched Discovery for the same reason...in fact there was a scene on YouTube with the younger Sarek & Amanda as they were talking & the Captain starts a Psychical fight with Sarek....don’t know why but it ruined a otherwise perfectly good moment....l was too embarrassed to post the clip here it so woke......it is a shame they didn’t cast Mia Kirschner as Amanda in the 2009 “Star Trek” & James Frain as the younger Sarek...that would have been more believeable......Winona Ryder & Ben Cross (2009) just don’t look like the characters.....Mia & James do look like younger versions of the characters...such a waste of good talent.....

Well, l finished watching “Star Trek Next Generation” season 3 & 4 on Blu-ray....definitely worth the upgrade...colors are rich & vibrant...the best NG has ever looked & as l was watching the episodes l noticed that even then in the early 90’s there was diversity...you had black Admirals & it was not forced...the actors & actresses playing these Admirals were playing them because they knew how to play these characters....l have to wonder if the dummies behind “Discovery” have ever watched a NG episode....have any of the woke people ever watched a NG episode??....”Star Trek lll Search for Spock” even had a black Admiral & this was 1984.....there has always been diversity in entertainment no matter what decade..

Yep. "Star Trek: Voyager", and "Deep Space Nine" were both very diverse and inclusive shows too. And it's cast was very diverse. Including having a Female Captain. And "Deep Space Nine" had a Black Captain. |

Yep, Captain Sisko was bad ass....almost like Kirk...kicks your ass & then asks questions!!!
Well, it looks like I am going to have to get "Star Trek NG" seasons 5 & 6 on blu ray as well....went to watch two of my favorite episodes from Season 5 "Cause & Effect" & "The First Duty"...both need a high definition makeover....the color tones are washed out & so off....now season 7's "Lower Decks" & the show's finale "All Good Things" do still look good on DVD (thank god!)....they are really the only two episodes from season 7 that I liked....at least they won't need an upgrade...
Really ticks me off that Paramount gave "Star Trek" a sub par release on DVD....most of NG was released in 2002 & 2003 & there were no enhancements made whatsoever!!...but the greedy bastards didn't mind charging $100 per season back then....I waited for three years until 2005 & the price still had not come down...it should be noted that Paramount was the last studio to get on board with DVD....& never really supported the format for a long time.....if I had only known 17 years ago what I know now....
I remember "Enterprise" was the same way....no improvements in picture & sound on DVD.....just ordered season 1 of "Enterprise" on blu ray for $11.00.....I am curious to see if it got a makeover....stay tuned...

I am with you on that Rock...it is why I no longer subscribe to having cable TV....& why I have no interest in seeing the new "Batman" film....enough already...

So actor Bruce Willis is retiring from acting do to a speech impairment called aphasia....sounds like a form of dementia....my dad has dementia even though my stepmother won't acknowledge it....it is there....the man that helped me with my math homework when I was thirteen no longer exits...he will be 76 this month.....is this what is waiting on me in 25 years??.....it was 25 years ago that my daughter was born....seems like yesterday.....enjoy life people...stop whining on Twitter about everything...once your mind is gone no one is going to care what you say ....I live everyday to the fullest....or try to
My sweet Lysette now has Parkinson's disease....something I myself am at risk of getting, my grandmother had that & everything my grandparents got inflicted with skipped my mom & uncle & me & my cousins are reaping those not so sweet rewards....
Grandfather had kidney stones....but not my mom or uncle....but me...six of them (2001, 2004 & 4 in the last four months of 2011)...you don't know pain until a kidney stone kicks your ass..
Grandfather had diabetes....but not my mom or uncle...but my cousin..
Grandfather had high blood pressure & heart surgery at 61.....but not my mom...but keeping my blood pressure in check is a constant struggle...
My Uncle did pass away from a heart attack six weeks after Star passed.....
Enjoy life people...manage your stress....stop worrying about things you can't control...
And if you are in a bad stressful marriage...get out....yes, you might lose your ass is court....but you will live longer & be happier....trust me...I have been there....it sucks....but now I have peace & harmony in my life...no stress, no arguing with someone over who did what when or where...
Don't mean to preach....but damn...like we don't have enough to worry about as we get older.....(gray hair, outliving retirement, our kids sticking us in a nursing home, erectile dysfucntion, dementia, for us men... prostate cancer which will be the death of all men unless something else gets us first, so I am told)

Yeah, he seems to be a genuinely decent guy. I saw a video a few weeks ago that someone had taken of him while he was helping to change someone's flat tire one night over in Mexico I believe it was, and they were like "Hey, you're Mel Gibson!". And he said yeah, and chatted with them a little as he changed the tire. I will have to see if I can find that video and post it here. |

Well, I finally finished the "Vikings & Barbarians vs Predators story Pt.1"....set in 945 A.D.......this is a very brutal story, probably the most brutal story I have ever written...definately not for the squemish or the politically correct snowflakes out there.....if you are a SJW...this story will trigger you.....but this was how people lived a thousand years ago....you can't change history no matter how disturbing it is....I did some research on the Barbarians of the time....they were a brutal bunch...you did not want to be a woman captured by these animals in war....the Vikings were just as brutal but did have a code of conduct & honor.....I thought of how cool it would be to have these two factions face off with some Predators....not much is known about the Vikings or Barbarians except for their brutal nature....so I didn't have to worry too much about historical context....the only historical characters here are King Edmond I of England & King Malcolm I of Alba who did join forces in 945 A.D......not much is known as to why, but they did join together during this time
I also wanted to give the Taria Ambrose character a good send off as she discovers that two Vikings were her ancestors......this one starts off in the present day but soon moves back a thousand years as Taria reads up on the history of her ancestors...Valek & Naveere....
Since you are a "Predator" fan like me Rock, I hope this one will peak your interest.....set about 250 years before the events of "Predators vs Knights of England" .....this one is more brutal & a story Hollywood would be too afraid to make..

I thought this was an interesting video from RK Outpost regarding Will Smith & Jada Pinkett....the more I learn about this marriage the more I feel bad for Will, Jada acts a lot like my ex-wife, ironically Jada is the same age as me & my ex-wife.....you don't recognize mental abuse when it happens, when I watch videos like this I am reminded of how I was manipulated by not only my ex-wife but members of her family namely her mother, everything wrong in the marriage was always my fault, when I confronted my ex-wife about her affair I was labeled a controlling abusive husband, I didn't help around the house, with our daughter, I didn't do this or that...we separated in 2004 & gave it another shot in 2007 before finally divorcing in 2010...in fact when I moved back in 2007 the house was a disaster & it was all my fault despite my reputation for being a neat freak, her mother tried to find fault with me at every turn, the woman was a master manipulator & if anyone was a control freak it was her mom, she even once threatened me with violence because of an argument between me & my ex-wife, but I couldn't see it then, you just can't, there is so much denial, you just can't believe it is happening, you just can't believe you have fallen into this big bear trap, Will Smith is exactly where I was 20 years ago & it is not a good place to be, let me tell you, this video makes me sad for him, he is being manipulated by both Jada & her mother here, Will is going to have to get away from Jada, he may have torpedoed his career because of her....so sad to watch... www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_8rn0_e-Ck |

I thought this was a cool fan made trailer on "The Expendables 4".....not sure there is going to be a 4th one....but if so, Sly definately should try to get everyone in this fan trailer....I can't think of anyone missing in the action genre with the exception of those in the previous films.... I finally finished “Star Trek Enterprise” Season 1 & 2 & I am awaiting Season 3...this show is way better than l remembered it to be....however l am going to pass on Season 4....they really lost momentum there...they tried to connect that last one to “TOS” & didn’t really do a good job...the intension was good but poorly executed...this show was better with its own identity....it is my second favorite to the “TNG”.....“ Deep Space Nine” was ok but it didn’t feel like “Star Trek” to me....never got a chance to see “Voyager”....life got in the way with me as a parent working all the time....DS9 l watched because a friend had it......same with “Enterprise”..
If you haven’t seen “Enterprise” l say give it a watch, the first two seasons are like “TNG” with stand alone episodes, Season 3 is a long running plot line with them trying to stop an alien race (Xindi) from creating a Death Star like weapon to destroy Earth.

"Star Trek: Voyager" is not perfect and has it's faults, but, I still really enjoyed it a lot. Such a great cast of characters too. I still think that "ST:V" should have had at least one big feature up on the silver screen. Never could get into "Enterprise", but... maybe I should give it another chance? |

“Enterprise” does kinda get off to a slow start....but after the first few episodes it picks up momentum....season 2 is better than season 1 but what l like about “Enterprise” is we see Captain Archer making all the mistakes that Kirk & Picard didn’t have to make.....they are sometimes ill equipped to handle the hostility of some alien characters, they don’t have shields yet & you realize why the Prime Directive was necessary in Kirk & Picard’s time, Archer had a bad habit of interfering with other cultures....& the Vulcans are not very likable in this time....the transporter is fairly new & everyone is afraid of it which is how l think anyone would be if such technologies were fairly new.
Linda Park who plays communications officer Hoshi Sato has to be the hottest Asian woman on the planet..
& Jolene Blalock as Vulcan T’Pol is easy on the eyes too..
Chief Engineer Charles Trip Tucker is fun to watch...he has that no nonsense screw you attitude when challenged by others.

I agree about “Deep Space Nine” it had its share of boring episodes, the Dominion angle was ok, but more of a Borg rip-off, DS9 had its moments but wasn’t really all that good....
You haven’t really missed anything on that one.
I would give “Enterprise” a look though....not sure about the fourth & final season but definitely the first three seasons.
