And the insanity continues.....now Jar Jar Abrams is saying that "Rise of Skywalker" will have a gay couple, you know I have no problem if someone is gay.....but does that need to be in a "Star Wars" film???....I mean we have never seen anyone having sex in a "Star Wars" film, so why do we need to flaunt a gay person??.... Now on a side note.....if it is Daisy Ridley & Keri Russell getting it on....then yeah!!...I am cool with that.......can we see them naked in bed together??   .......come on Jar Jar.....make it happen.... |

I have decided that if we see Mark Hamill & Hayden Christensen returning as force ghosts, then this one I might go see.....but if they are going to continue to ignore anything from the Prequels or Anakin's importance to balanicing the force... then no way!!......not everyone hated the Prequels, but most hate this Disney trilogy........can't wait for the reviews to come in & the sypnosis on "Wikipedia".

Saw this funny clip on You Tube yesterday that someone did parodying a scene of Baby Yoda from the new "The Mandalorian" Disney series and it had me cracking up. I also can remember when "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" toys were a much sought after hot commodity during the holidays, and some parents were even paying outrageous sums of money for them to scalpers on the after market. |

Well, I just got back from seeing "Rise of Skywalker".......so what did I take away from it???
If you liked "The Force Awakens" & hate the "Last Jedi" you will like this one.....it might as well be a direct sequel to "Force Awakens".....it pretty much ignores the disasterous "Last Jedi"......now for the good & the bad.....
The Good (what I liked)......beware of spoilers below.....
Kylo Ren's entrance.....Adam Driver really made this character bad azz...finally...
The Knights of Ren return....yes!!!
Billy Dee Williams' Lando is just as cool as Lando ever was & Williams has aged well for a guy over 80
Rey struggles a bit here....unlike the previous films
Luke's force ghost appearance has a line that is sure to piss off Rian Johnson...yes, yes yes!!!
The pacing is right on par with "Force Awakens".....J.J. Abrams may be a hack, but the guy knows how to deliver the action.
Carrie Fisher's Leia is done right this time.....no Mary Poppins BS.....
No Social Justice pandering.....J.J. kept that BS out....
Poe & Finn get to do more here.
Ian McDiarmid proves once again that Palpatine is one bad dude...
Harrison Ford makes a Han Solo cameo as a force vision to Kylo in a heartfelt moment....almost had me in tears.
Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Liam Neeson, Samuel L. Jackson, & James Earl Jones (Vader) all lend their voices as force ghosts to Rey, we don't see them but we hear them speak to her.
Lando & Chewbacca & the Falcon survive.
The last scene in the film I have no doubt was definately input from Lucas......it is very heartfelt.
Things I didn't like (the bad)
Rey is able to force heal like Jesus....are you serious??
Rey & Kylo clash lightsabers in a force bond fight from different locations....dumb dumb dumb!!
Palpatine can destroy ships with "Force Lightning".....uuuggg o.k.
J.J. once again rips off other movies....examples below
Luke's force ghost pulls his X-Wing out of the water....can you say "Empire Strikes Back"
Palpatine's death scene is similar to Walter Donovan's death scene in "Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade"
Not enough of Keri Russell, we don't even see her pretty face totally uncovered....we see her eyes, that is it.....so much for empowering women....
The Horses on the Star Destroyer is ridiculous, however they are in the planet's atmosphere, not in space, still the wind would knock them all off anyway...
Finn & others catch a lift off the Star Destroyer onto the Falcon.....ugghh o.k.
Overall I have to say I liked it, I was not bored with it one bit....was it perfect?...NO!!.....but 100 times better than "Last Jedi".......again it plays more like a direct sequel to "Force Awakens".....J.J. can say whatever he wants to the press.....he clearly wanted to give Ruin Johnson the finger here....& did.........J.J. definately wanted to undo the damage done in "Last Jedi".....did he succeed??.....yes & no.....however I was pleasantly surprised with the effort made.....
I say go see it if you liked "Force Awakens" & hated "Last Jedi"......if you are one that liked "Last Jedi" then don't bother.

Hey, thanks for the review, Roman! I am glad to hear that you liked it, and also glad to know that it is not as bad as I have been hearing that it is. Seriously, the majority of reviews that I have seen about it so far are saying that it is pretty bad. I was hoping that the Skywalker saga would end on a high note so your review gives me some hope. I may actually go to see it at the theater now?

I may actually go to see it at the theater now? If you decide to go see it, don't expect "George Lucas" greatness.......however I take back some of my unfavorable comments about J.J. Abrams.....yes....he is still a copy-cat hack without an original thought, but one thing became clear to me while watching "Rise of Skywalker".........Abrams gets it!!!......he gets the fan base.....he gets that......there are so many "fu** you Rian Johnson" moments that you just have to love.... that made me really like this movie.......I didn't walk out of the theatre pissed off like I did two years ago with "Last Jedi".......for two years Rian(dumb) Johnson has been trolling fans on "Twitter".....& J.J. trolled his sorry azz with this film......I think that is what I like about it most........ |

That is why I went & saw it, to judge for myself......I think way too many fans take this stuff too seriously, sure I rant & rave sometimes myself.....but I try to keep it in perspective......I still think "Return of the Jedi" has its share of problems....there never should have been a second Death Star".....to me that has always been a no-brainer....I won't even get started on the Ewoks...........people say to me....."then where would Luke & Vader & the Emperor meet?".....& I always say it should have been Vader's "Super Star Destroyer".....I mean why not??.......the point is.....not even "ROTJ" was perfect......& sadly "Rise of Skwalker borrows elements of "Jedi".......but yet fans can see flaws in the Prequels but not "Return of the Jedi".......too many fans can't get past their childhood when it comes to "Star Wars"...... other copy-cat moments I forgot to mention...... In addition to ripping off elements of "Return of the Jedi"....copy cat hack Abrams rips off "Avengers Endgame" too with Rey & Palpatine saying almost the same thing Thanos & Iron Man say to each other at that critical moment.......yeah, J.J. just couldn't resist..... Also, as with "Lost"......J.J. Abrams once again forgets his own mystery boxes.....we still don't know how Maz acquired Luke's lost lightsaber from his duel with Vader on Bespin.....thanks J.J.... We still don't know who Max Von Sydow was in the "Force Awakens".......again.....someone should have told J.J......"this isn't "Lost" you dummy!!" |

Hey, Roman! I put on my best Star Wars T shirt and went to go see "The Rise of Skywalker" on New Year's Eve and thought that is was good, but not great, unfortunately. In fact, it left a lot to be desired actually. But it was entertaining. Although it had a lot of unanswered questions, WTF? moments, and some scenes that were just plain cringeworthy. Like when Kylo Ren brings Rey back from the dead and she wakes up and gives him a big, wet passionate kiss? What the...? A hug of relief and thanks would have been more sufficient. I mean, C'mon, these two were mortal enemies and this guy was out to murder her numerous times in battle throughout the films and then she falls in love with him all of a sudden? Right. Oh, well...? That's women for ya'. The horse scene on the hull of the Star Destroyer still left me shaking my head in disbelief too. And they never did explain how exactly that Emperor Palpatine was able to survive his fall into the Death Star reactor core from ROTJ? But all in all it was still an enjoyable viewing experience for the most part. A couple of other things that made me shake my head in "Rise of Skywalker" was how Palpatine was able to take down resistance ships using his force lightning powers. I mean, C'mon! Seriously? I thought that was a little over-the-top. And this next criticism goes for all of the Star Wars movies in general... How come every time that a battalion of Stormtroopers arrives to engage in battle they are always easily dispatched by blaster fire? I mean... Really. In the "Rise of Skywalker" they were easily mowing down Stormtroopers left and right with simple blaster fire. What's the point of wearing all of that expensive armor if it can't even deflect simple blaster shots? You'd think that every so often they would show some shots actually deflecting off of their armor for a change just to show that that armor isn't completely useless.
One thing that I have to give them credit for in this latest installment though is that they actually added some people of color into the ranks of The First Order for a change instead of making all of the bad guys be white guys. I think I even saw some aliens as part of the First Order too if I am not mistaken? Hmmm? I wonder if J.J. Abrams read some of my earlier criticisms here about that concerning "The Force Awakens"?

There are some rumors on the Internet that Ewan McGregor is having some creative differences with Lucasfilm over the upcoming "Obi-Wan" series.....McGregor has "Executive Producer" credit which means he is not a fool.....hopefully he had a clause in his contract that allows him to walk away if he can't play this character as he sees fit......we don't need another character ruined.......& now that "Rise of Skywalker" has crossed the 1 billion worldwide mark....Kathleen Kennedy will likely be spared the ax.....but then again, for a "Star Wars" film....."Rise of Skywalker" should have had "Endgame" numbers domestically & it doesn't....Kennedy has some dirt on some powerful people....I can't think of another reason for her to still have a job.

In a recent conference call with Disney investors, Bob Iger said there were no plans for any future "Star Wars" films in the coming years.....they instead are going to concentrate on "T.V. shows" in developement, like "The Mandolorian" & the "Obi-Wan" series.....this tells me two things......
1. Iger recognizes the fan base is broken by the crap Disney trilogy & money had been lost...not only on the films but merchandising as well....& that "The Mandolorian" is doing real well, although the "Obi-Wan" series has been damaged by Ewan McGregor running his mouth about Woke BS.....the media didn't expose Ewan's extra-marital affair....it wasn't news, very few knew about it.....but now everyone knows because he couldn't keep his woke mouth shut....
2. Iger is a slave to the "Social Justice Losers" on Twitter & knows if he fires Kennedy there will be a feminists backlash......it is really pathetic when you can't do your job & get rid of incompetent people like her.
