There are many rumors on the Internet right now about tomorrow's "Rise of Skywalker" full trailer, there have been rumors that say there have been many reshoots, that 75% has been reshot, bottom line, Disney is in panic mode as they should be, rumor has it that Jar Jar Abrams told Bob Iger that "it won't please everyone" to which Iger replied "it has to please everyone, no exceptions"......they have so screwed up this thing that I am actually getting a kick out of their panic......it is sad that it has come to this, all they had to do is adapt many of the novels, they had the stories, they just don't have the "know-how".....not even Lucas himself could please everyone.....Jar Jar Abrams sure as hell won't......

It had this one ludicrous scene though that has a lot of people commenting about it, where some rebels or whoever they are supposed to be, are riding horse-like creatures on the hull of a Star Destroyer during the middle of a space battle! I mean.... Come on! You've got to be kidding me?!

So this one opens two days before my birthday.....I wish I could say it will be a cool birthday gift, but I can't......yes, what is up with these ridiculous horses??.....now we have Star Destroyers emerging from under water, can you say the "Enterprise" in "Star Trek Into Darkness"......now Jar Jar Abrams is ripping himself off.........does this knucklehead ever have an original thought??!!!! That is why I like directors like John Carpenter so much. They may not have the big hollywood flash and bang of directors such as J.J. Abrams, but they make up for it in thought-provoking and entertaning content. So, True......John Carpenter was in many ways like George Lucas......he wanted to tell a good story, he didn't care about flash & style & like Lucas hated the Hollywood system & like Lucas got hardly any respect from said system......but his films are now considered classics........the audiences' reaction to the scenes from his films on that big screen behind him on stage when he was performing theme songs on stage at that Chicago concert tells you all you need to know....... J.J. Abrams on the other hand is a "yes" man.......he got lucky with the show "LOST"......which was real good in it's first four seasons.....but season 5 went off the rails but was still o.k........season 6 was so awful......it is almost the same awfulness of the "Last Jedi"...........to his credit Abrams had left the show by then, so he is not entirely to blame......when I think about 2009's "Star Trek"......I realize how bad it is........however I did like "Into Darkness"......but let's face it, it is only better because of actors like Peter Weller & Benedict Cumberbach's performances & Alice Eve's sexiness didn't hurt either, without these three, it too would have sucked........bottom line, Abrams does what he is told.....he will never be a Carpenter or Lucas! |

You know what happened to the Solo movie after the fan backlash from Episode 8, and that is pretty much what is probably going to happen again once Episode 9 is released next month. I hope that I'm wrong in that assessment, but... I've got a bad feeling about this one. |

Every day as I look on my I-phone for the latest news stories I have noticed that the media is trying desperately to hype up "Rise of Skywalker"......the one thing that infuriates me as a long time fan is how they continue to act like Disney is carrying on Lucas' legacy...when in fact Disney has done just the opposite....case in point.... there was an interview shortly after Lucas completed "Revenge of the Sith" in 2005 where he said that he intended 9 films, but realized that he could tell the story of Anakin Skyalker in 6 films, not 9......Lucas said that the 6 films told the story he wanted to tell.......& yet the media shills act like Disney has completed his story....apparently these dummies in the media have never seen the first 6 films....aaaagggghhhh!!!!......if these dummies did their research they would come to realize that Disney's films are cheap knock-offs of the "original trilogy".....not a continuation.....I got to go calm down!  |

One of the "Geeks & Gamers" folks made a good point......the reason they are bringing the "Emperor" back is so he can be killed by Rey......Yoda couldn't do it, Luke couldn't do it, Anakin did but at the cost of his life, but hey, Rey can do anything & kill the Emperor she will without even breaking a sweat......yep....that is exactly what I want to see.....isn't that what we all want to see??.....anyone?

So there is a report out from test screenings for "Rise of Skywalker"......whether it is true or not is anyone's guess.....but I have to believe it is true because Disney is trying to put a lid on it....it goes like this.....the end sees Rey stomping a mud hole in Emperor Palpatine....let's see Mace, Yoda, & Luke couldn't defeat him....Anakin/Vader does but at the cost of his life.... but yet Rey can just like that.....this screening was so bad that people were laughing & booing & throwing stuff at the screen....it was reported that Bob Iger was so furious that he demanded Kennedy & Jar Jar Abrams do re-shoots, another re-shoot had Luke & Anakin assisting Rey with Hamill & Hayden Christensen returning....this screening also was bad, so a third ending was filmed with a mystery Skywalker defeating Palpatine....this was said to have a better response....again, we know there have been many re-shoots, so there has to be some truth to this, also a guy on Twitter was debating whether to purchase tickets & Mark Hamill tweeted "You might want to wait for it on cable".......even Hamill knows it is going to suck. I have not seen anything regarding Lucas being asked to do a film, but I will keep an eye on that.....it wouldn't surprise me though, at the end of the day it is about the money.......Iger, Kennedy & Jar Jar may want to appease the "Social Justice Losers" on Twitter, but the Disney shareholders are not going to stand by & watch a 4 billion dollar investment go down the drain.....Iger & Kennedy will be gone next year if "Rise of Skywalker" is a box office failure, or it doesn't meet expectations........I think Kennedy is already gone next year, when Iger told the investors in a earnings call last week that they were taking a break from SW films.....I can assure you that was code for "We are going to restructure "Lucasfilm"......it is coming folks.....shareholders are not going to invest in a franchise so divided as "Star Wars" is right now.....they all see what we see as does Iger despite what he tells the scum media. |
