I am on the latest story set right before the events of "Predator 2" in the year 1997, this may be my biggest one yet, it is sort of like "The Avengers" where I have inserted many movie characters into a cohesive story, they are....
Peter Keyes (Gary Busey) from "Predator 2" Eric Scully (Rutger Hauer) from the previous two stories Ray Quick (Stallone) from the "Specialist" Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from "Predator" May Munro (Sharon Stone) from the "Specialist" in San Francisco as they are being stalked by a Predator
Jack Traven (Keanu Reeves) from "Speed" Sonny & Yuki (Jet Li & Kelly Hu)as Short Round's (Temple of Doom) grown children Henry Jones Jr.II (Robert Forster) as Indy & Marion's grown son Wendy Jones (Star Marlowe) as Henry's daughter, Indy & Marion's granddaughter, Jack's girlfriend Max Rotchansky (Mel Gibson) Traven's Los Angeles Captain Jennifer Hills (Camille Keaton) now Max's wife Snake Plissken (Kurt Russell) now the owner of a security firm in Los Angeles Katy (Ann Dusenberry) now Snake's wife & co-owner of the firm Jenny Rotchansky (Felicity Jones) as Max & Jennifer's 17 year old daughter. John Stillman Jr. (Frank Grillo) as Johnny Stillman's(ISOYG) grown son seeking vengence on Jennifer as well as the Predator from "Predator 2" as he stalks Los Angeles...
Jack Traven (Speed) & Ray Quick (Specialist) are two characters that never got follow-up films & they should have.
I am still going to do the Indy/Predator prequel story but this one I had to do first........
I am half way into this current one.....what can I say...I am passionate about these characters & their movie franchise....stay tuned...

Well, I received my "Predator 2" DVD in the mail yesterday and decided to watch it last night. I hadn't seen it since around the time that it first came out, and I was surprised at how good it is. It was better than I had remembered it being. I ended up watching it twice in a row. While I think the first one is still the best in the series, part 2 is still pretty darned good and a lot of fun.

Cool....if you liked "Predator 2" enough to watch it twice you will likely like my newest story that is now done, here it is, this one is much larger than my previous stories because I focused on a lot of movie characters(see above post) in this one but it is a set up to the events of "Predator 2" as I brought in Robert Davi's "Deputy Chief" & Kent McCord's "Capt. Pilgrim" to lead this story into the opening moments of "Predator 2" toward the end as well as giving Peter Keyes (Gary Busy) more character development, I left out Danny Glover's "Harrigan" for the same reason I left Arnold's Dutch out of the previous "Predator" prequel, I just can't top those entrances & those guys made a cool entrance that I just wasn't going to mess with, I also at the last minute did a paragraph with "HardCore" sleazy reporter Tony Pope (Morton Downey Jr.) as he tries to harass Katy about her & Snake's history where he incurs the wrath of Snake that is quite comical, I don't know how many have read these stories but I remind everyone that this is fan fiction & should be treated as such, I like these characters & Hollywood will never be what it once was, it is all about telling a story & the driving force behind any good story are its characters......

View AttachmentI've just been in a Predator kinda mood lately ever since I read your story. I tried to find my copy of the original "Predator" last week to watch it and can't seem to find it anywhere, so I was glad that part 2 arrived for something to watch. Now I can't wait until my copy of "The Predator" gets here so I can check that one out next. I may just watch the rest in the series, "Predators" and AVP after that? I will read your latest story over the holiday weekend. Speaking of the Predator flicks, here is an interesting article that I happened to stumble across last night concerning "Predators 2" the sequel to "Predators". They were thinking of making a sequel to it when the studio decided to make "The Predator" instead.

Haha! That line had me cracking up!

My mom used to take us to the Drive-In when we were kids a lot every Summer. My mom loved action movies starring all of the biggest stars back then such as Clint Eastwood, Burt Reynolds, John Wayne, Charlton Heston, etcetera. I was lucky and saw lots of great action flicks while growing up. My favorites were the Charlton Heston movies such as "The Planet of the Apes", "The Omega Man", "Soylent Green", etcetera. I do remember enjoying the Clint Eastwood movies, especially "Dirty Harry", just can't recall much about them.

View AttachmentI never really got into that show, to be honest. I thought it was okay but it never really seemed to grab me. I was a big Hulk fan back then too and always read the comic books. I just couldn't see any mortal man playing the Hulk though. The Hulk of the comics is larger-than-life and incredibly fast, powerful, menacing, and strong, and Ferrigno, while he is impressive and imposing as a man, is still no comparison to the Hulk of the comic books. But, that's how I felt back then as a kid, maybe watching them now through adult eyes I would feel differently about the show nowadays?

I am 3 chapters into your latest story right now, Roman. I would have finished it by now but I have had a lot of things going on lately that have been taking up a lot of my free time. But I hope to finish it within the next couple days or so and then I will let you know what I think afterwards.

Yeah, I remember the drive-ins as a kid in 1977/1978, I thought that huge screen was the coolest thing, I remember seeing the first "Star Wars", "Smokey & the Bandit", "Grease", "Saturday Night Fever", "Corvette Summer", "Superman The Movie" & I also remember "Jaws 2" scaring the hell out of me especially on that huge screen.....they might as well bring the drive-ins back.

The pilot episode of the "Incredible Hulk" is really the best episode & really sets the tone for the series as we learn why Banner becomes the Hulk, the fourth season had a two-parter episode called "The First" where there was another Hulk years earlier where Banner comes close to a cure.

Yeah, I've got a lot of good memories from the old Drive-In days. Like the times when we were able to invite friends to go along with us and we would all play in the playground together at the front of the Drive-In up under the screen, sometimes even through the main feature if it was boring to us, and then later hitting the snack bar together for all kinds of goodies. Sometimes around the 4th of July, some Drive-Ins would even have a little fireworks display inbetween the double features. I also remember this one time after the movies were finished when my mom accidentally drove off before putting the speaker back in it's holder and ripping it from the pole. She was so nervous when she took it to the main desk to tell them, but they were like, aww, don't worry about it. It happens all the time.

Since I started this thread I have talked about how Hollywood has forgotten how to entertain, how they are destroying Iconic characters, but in the back of my mind I keep thinking maybe I am overreacting, maybe I am a little wrong in that assessment, some might argue that my five stories that I have posted here dishonor the characters I have extended on & yes I may have taken a few liberties but not many....I have stayed true to how these characters were portrayed in their Iconic films.....however this video from "Geeks & Gamers" pretty much confirms all of my critical analysis of Hollywood & why films are so bad nowadays.....apparently I have been spot on......yep, the glory years are indeed over.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DZQ1T_GHJg

This is one film I hope Hollywood never remakes....you can't remake a John Carpenter film...period!!.....the guys behind the 2011 "The Thing" were smart to make it a prequel to Carpenter's 1982 classic "The Thing"...."Christine" like "Escape From New York" had that cool music that Carpenter is known for as well.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRZxlJLT_bE

"Christine" was one of John Carpenter's better movies. So moody, creepy and atmospheric. It's a perfect watch for this time of year. I wish John Carpenter would come out of retirement and direct another feature. Although, I don't know if he's still got it anymore? His last feature, "The Ward" was just okay in my opinion, but nothing great. Hard to believe that movie was made 10 years ago. Where does the time go?

I finished your latest story last night. I see you had a well-rounded cast in it, including Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D.! And I had to chuckle at the IMF organization, Impossible Mission Force. Is that something from pop culture that really exists, or did you make it up? And how cool would it have been to see Schwarzeneggers' Dutch character teamed up with Gary Busey's, Peter Keyes' team in "Predator 2"? Their scenes together would have made for some good laughs and action scenes I'm sure.

The IMF is the government organization that Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt works for in the Mission Impossible films.....for the sake of cinema & story telling one has to assume that the IMF & SHEILD would be one in the same.....the Mission Impossible films are really good films the first film is so so however the second film really makes you wonder about all this Covid stuff.....the ones that came after just got better & better.....l am going to probably do a Dutch/Ray Quick story where they take on a very powerful bad guy....l just have to come up with a plot point.....hope you got a kick out of Tony Pope running in fear of Snake.......that would have been funny Morton Downey was the king of trash talk TV even though l never really watched his show but I remember people talking about how crazy it was.

Oh, okay, that makes sense now. I should have known and put two and two together since it was Ethan Hunt in the story. I only ever saw the first "Mission Impossible" movie and thought that it was just okay. I remember being confused by it's plot more than anything. I can still remember asking my wife if it made any sense to her after leaving the theater. It just seemed jumbled and too quick-paced to me. Or maybe I was just not paying enough attention? 😆

The first Mission Impossible film is a jumbled mess mainly because director Brian DePalma & Tom Cruise could not get along while making it....it is my least favorite of the bunch......you should really watch the second one....with all this Covid stuff....the second one will really make you question what is really going on with Covid....the second one’s plot could actually be happening....Jar Jar Abrams directed the third film & surprisingly he didn’t screw it up....the last three Mission Impossible films are the best with edge of your seat suspense & Rebecca Ferguson in the last two is a cool female action babe....again that is how you create a strong kick-ass female hero....l would definitely give the others a watch....the first is the weakest of the bunch no doubt.

Yeah, maybe I'll give part 2 a try, if Netflix has it available for streaming? I just received my copy of "The Predator" recently and I want to watch that one next. And I have another 6 or 7 new DVDs that have been sitting around here for months now that I still haven't watched yet, "Logan" with Hugh Jackman, "War for the Planet of the Apes", "Alien Covenant", "Howard the Duck", "Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 2", and "Flash Gordon". I really need to do some catching up soon.
