DVD's don't deteriate, players are sensitive, I have two DVD players, the 2000 Pioneer 3-disc changer that is still holding up & the standard 2014 RCA player, I have some naughty DVR's that the Pioneer won't read but the RCA player will, the only DVD's I have ever had playback problems with are "Warner Bros" DVD's, WB is cheap, DVD's manufactured between 2006 & 2008 by WB have been known to have issues, the "Green Mile" & "Starsky & Hutch" playback problems was because of this, the replacements were newer releases, "The Road Warrior" played fine on the RCA player, it did on the Pioneer when bought it in 2005, but not now, so I know it is not the DVD, same with "Blade Runner" for the 25th Anniversary release you got four versions of the film, the original 1982 version with voice over, the 1992 version, the 2002 version & the Final Cut, those dummies at WB put the first three versions on one disc, the final cut on the second disc & special features on a third disc.....so with 3 versions on one disc a weakend laser is not going to have enough power to change the layers which is what happened, the newer RCA player played it with no problem, your DVD's are not deteriating, your player's laser is especially if it is old.

"Blade Runner" is no doubt one of the best Sci-Fi films ever made, we are now in year 2019 & L.A. still doesn't have flying cars, however flying cars do exist in Europe, they just haven't come to market yet, they are still working out the kinks that they have, I am not sure they are a good idea especially with people & the cell phones, can you imagine the collisions.....
Rutger Hauer wrote a book called "all those moments", he writes some pretty interesting stuff, he said "Blade Runner has been his favorite role, he said he really wanted the "Ladyhawke" role & got it when Kurt Russell dropped out over creative differences with director Richard Donner, he also did a film called "Nighthawks" with Sylverster Stallone & Billy Dee Williams in 1981, which is a good one if you haven't seen it, in his book he writes that Stallone was difficult, that he was trying to direct the movie even though it had a director, sounds like Stallone, you get the impression that he didn't like Stallone....Rutger Hauer could have been a big star in Hollywood but I think "The Hitcher" role killed it for him.....they were afraid of him I would guess......I still say he was robbed of stardom

I could have sworn that I heard some where that some DVDs can deteriorate if manufactured incorrectly? I will have to look further into that. But, yeah, more than likely my player's lasers are burning out. Rutger Hauer is a fantastic actor. I have enjoyed him in every role that I have ever seen him in. One of my favorite movies of his is "Blind Fury". Have you seen that one yet? If not, give it a try sometime. It is a great low-budget action comedy flick from the 80's and Hauer plays a blind Vietnam Vet who has to take on a corrupt casino boss and his goons in order to save the wife and child of one of his old army buddies. Blind Fury

Rutger Hauer was also in a T.V. movie called "Blind Side" (1993) as a drifter who torments a married couple (Ron Silver & Rebecca DeMornay) who have a dirty secret, it is the "Hitcher" in a domestic setting, a fun suspense thriller, you actually don't know who to root for, Hauer or Silver, Hauer even tries to spank DeMornay, well, sort of.....

You know, I think that I might have seen that one? I checked on You Tube and can't find a trailer for it, but I will keep my eyes out for it and even check later to see if it is available for streaming on Netflix. Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind seeing "The Hitcher" again either. That was a really good edge-of-your-seat thriller.

Speaking of road chase thrillers, have you ever seen "Road Games" starring Stacy Keach and Jamie Lee Curtis? If not then do it. If you liked the Hitcher then you will really enjoy this one. Road Games

"Road Games".....missed that one, road thrillers are always fun because they could actually happen, I have to admit that the "Hitcher" is one such frightening scenario..... the remake is good too, I was expecting to hate it, I didn't think anyone could match Rutger Hauer's menacing hitcher, but Sean Bean actually pulls it off, they should have made it a sequel instead of a remake, Bean is just as menacing as Hauer & it doesn't hurt that Sophia Bush is one hot woman.....other road films you should watch if you haven't already seen are as follow...
Joy Ride (2001)....never mess with truckers. Breakdown (1997)....this has probably happened to people...very real scenario Vacancy (2007)....scarier than the Bates Motel
more lighter stuff...
Midnight Run (1988)...when Robert DeNiro was sane. Corvette Summer (1978)...Mark Hamill's post "Star Wars" movie...Annie Potts is hot in this one. Cheech & Chong's Things are tough all over (1982)....their best one. Vacation (1983)....Chevy Chase at his best. The Sure Thing (1985)....One of the best romantic films ever made.
We covered "Mad Max" & "The Road Warrior".....& I am sure you have seen "Smokey & the Bandit"
Fun Fact....Burt Reynolds turned down Han Solo to do Bandit.....who knew.

You listed some pretty good movies there. Speaking of good movies... Since we're on the subject, I was watching this video about "Tron" earlier this morning on You Tube. Now, Tron is one of my favorite movies of all-time. I saw it in the theater the summer that it came out and have been a big fan of it ever since. That year was 1982, and man, what a year for great movies that was. Just to name a few that came out that year... "Blade Runner", Conan the Barbarian", Fast Times at Ridgemont High", "The Sword and the Sorcerer", "E.T.", "48 Hrs.", "Poltergeist", "Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan", "John Carpenter's The Thing", and so many more. The 80's were a damn good time for some really fun and exciting movies.

Yes, 1982 was a great year for movies, I own the ones you named on DVD except for "Sword & Sorcerer" mainly because it is out of print & hard to find, when I look at my DVD's year by year..1982 has the most at 19 films.....other great movies from 1982 that I own are.... Rocky III....Stallone's best ever performance....love the redemption factor of trying to find yourself again. Forced Vengence.....Chuck Norris' best ever film hands down! The Seduction....How a stalker can wreck your life. Death wish II.....Good ole vigilante justice. Beach Girls.....My 2nd favorite T&A film....(H.O.T.S. being the 1st) The Beastmaster....The Jon Horde are more scarier than Thulsa Doom. Friday the 13th Part 3.....my favorite one of them all.....Dana Kimmell....oh yeah....Amy Steel from Pt2 was supposed to be in this one only to be killed off...she refused but later regretted it....imagine Dana & Amy at the same time ....o.k....let's move on.... Hallowen III Season of the Witch......people may prefer Michael Myers.....but this is my favorite one....old man Cockran was more evil than Myers....."the best joke of all..the joke on the children"...you don't get no more evil than that. Night Shift.....Michael Keaton's first film role as a guy with more solutions than there are problems & Henry Winkler trying to shed the "Fonz" image as a nerdy guy....Shelly Long turned down the mom role in "E.T." to do this film. & of course the Cheech & Chong film "Things are tough all over".

The year 1984 was another great year for movies.....it almost rivals 1982...almost.....1984 saw the re-election of President Reagan & MTV was at its height of popularity in 1984, after 1983's "Thriller" from Michael Jackson, videos became more flashy & theatrical......the best films from 1984...
Romancing the Stone Against all odds V-The Final Battle....best T.V. mini-series that year Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom The Terminator Star Trek III Search for Spock Purple Rain Conan The Destroyer Ghostbusters Body Double A Nightmare on Elm Street Starman Beverly Hills Cop Sheena
Notable mentions
Footloose Gremlins Sixteen Candles

Friday the 13th Part 3.....my favorite one of them all.....Dana Kimmell....oh yeah....Amy Steel from Pt2 was supposed to be in this one only to be killed off...she refused but later regretted it....imagine Dana & Amy at the same time ....o.k....let's move on.... I watched Friday the 13th parts 2, 3 and 4 around Halloween. They're all really good. But, if I had to choose a favorite from the series, it would probably have to be Part 6: "Jason Lives". That one is just the perfect blend of thrills, chills, and comedy. Hallowen III Season of the Witch......people may prefer Michael Myers.....but this is my favorite one....old man Cockran was more evil than Myers....."the best joke of all..the joke on the children"...you don't get no more evil than that. Yep, that one is my favorite out of the series too. They tried to do something different with it and it worked in my opinion. Originally John Carpenter wanted each chapter of the Halloween movies to be totally unrelated to one another and a completely separate story on their own. But in the end the fans only wanted to see more of Michael Myers.

Me & Star used to talk about "Salem's Lot", we were kids back in 1979 when it aired on CBS, me & my parents lived in a house on a dead end street, the backyard had a field behind it, there was a freeway behind the field, so at night headlights in the trees was scary to look at, I drove Star by there when she visited me, there are office buildings there now where the field used to be, that kid in the window scared me to death when I was a kid, add to the fact that my bedroom was in the back of the house, I would use every excuse not to go to bed, I was afraid that kid would tap on my bedroom window....I don't know what is scarier, the scene itself or the music.

Stupid Idiot of the Day....
Tim Kaine....
Hillary's running mate was on "Meet the Press" accusing Trump of having a temper tandrum, didn't this stupid idiot have a temper tandrum in the Vice Presidential debate?....I remember him being a arrogant jerk & losing his cool while Mike Pence kept his cool.....the Democraps have no shame.....The President not only has the right to secure the border, he as President has an obligation to secure this country!!!

To all the Democraps & liberals out there.....
When you get on a flight you are checked, your fellow passengers are checked, do you want to be a plane if your fellows passengers are not screened?....of course not, but yet they should be able to enter the country without being screened......what is the difference here???.....should we stop checking people at airports??....again what is the difference??
Liberal response:......well, it takes to long to get into the country legally...
So....if I am at a bank & it is taking to long to get my loan application approved, does that mean I get to go into the bank vault & take the money I want to borrow?....of course not!!
This is how Trump needs to be talking to the scum media & Nancy(dumb.....oh, never mind.

You make some very good common sense points there, Roman. I mean, even most jobs ask you to fill out an application form, ask for references, work history, education level, experience, and do background checks etc. before hiring someone for the position. They don't just want anyone to fill the job, they want someone who is actually capable of handling the duties and responsibilities associated with it and not just some poseur who is looking for a free handout. There has to be a vetting process of some kind to make sure that the people entering this country are actually eligible to enter our country and not a terrorist, a gang member, human or drug trafficker, or some other kind of harmful security threat and burden on our society. It's just plain common sense. The Democrats have talked for years and years about building a barrier along the border but now that it's finally time to either put up or shut up they would rather obstruct Trump and leave our country open and vulnerable. We are already paying out many, many billions of dollars each year to help support the 20 million illegal aliens that are already living here in our country currently right now, so, what's the big deal about a few more billion to build the barrier wall?

The Democraps don't want to give Trump another victory, Nancy(dumb)Pelosi & Chuck(communist)Shumer know that the Democraps no longer have the support of smart voters, so they need dumb illiterate voters from other countries, the only thing the Democraps have going for them is the scum media, they have a good spokesperson in the form of the scum media....without the scum media they would have been finished by now....sadly a vast majority of people are intellectually lazy & don't use common sense & believe whatever the fake news media puts out there.

You mean scum media like CNN and Jim Acosta who deceivingly went to a sleepy town in Texas to report on the border wall instead of near Tijuana where all of the action is really taking place? Right. Nothing to see here, folks! Meanwhile, living conditions in California continue to plummet under Democrat rule. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer should feel ashamed of themselves for lying to the American people the way that they do always trying to pretend that they are morally superior to others while they continue to turn their backs on their own fellow American citizens. Speaking of Nancy(dumb)Pelosi, there is this woman who scaled Pelosi's wall at her estate & police had to be called, she has camped out with some illegals from Honduras & is demanding that Pelosi take the refugees in, it is funny, haven't seen the footage, but they were talking about it on the radio.
The Scum media is now claiming Trump was a secret Russian operative, this is getting insane, this is media malpractice at its worst on the part of CNN......I mean, are they serious??!!!......are they this desperate??....I never thought I would live to see such insanity on the left....this takes the cake....& there are dummies out there that will believe this nonsense.

Gloria Allred...
The media spotlight-grabbing-should-have-been-disbarred attorney is now representing women who claim to have been sexually assaulted by R.Kelly.....man, no one is safe from the "Me-Too" folks.....of course R.Kelly has had this reputation for years.....why is this a shock to anyone?, especially Lady Gaga who did a duet with him & has pulled the song from music sites.....this reminds me of Harvey Weinstein....everyone knew, now we are all suprised??.....& of course Allred has to get her 15 minutes of fame (again).....this woman loves the spotlight & takes advantage of women who are the real victims of such acts.....Allred has no shame.

I saw that! It was pretty funny, although there wasn't much of a wall to scale that I saw. It was just a short little thing. Did you hear about the reporter who while trying to visit Obama's mansion after the media claimed that Trump was lying about it having a barrier surrounding it to protect it? Well as it turns out, the reporter couldn't even get near Obama's mansion because the street had these huge concrete barricades at both ends stopping any vehicles from driving down anywhere near it, and also had police sitting in their vehicles to help keep intruders away. The reporter asked the policeman if he could just walk down the street and he was refused entry. And you can bet that Obama has all kinds of other security measures in place to protect his family, including Secret Service agents on guard 24/7. Here's a photo of Obama's mansion. And then this same reporter also tried to view billionaire liberal political activist and founder of The Open Society Foundation, George Soros' mansion but couldn't because it too was surrounded by a, surprise surprise, a big wall and security cameras everywhere.
