I really miss Star a lot too. She and I used to chat on the Amazon Fun Forum all the time. Some nights on the weekends she would even stay up all night long chatting with me back when I was still doing security work at Comcast on the Midnight shift. I told her a few times that she should go and get some sleep but she said that she doesn't require a lot of sleep, maybe only 4 hours a day. We would discuss our favorite movies, TV shows, and music videos etc. She told me a little about her family but not much. It's a shame that they couldn't give you more details about her death.
Hey, I meant to ask you, what did Star look like? I asked her if there were any celebrities that she resembled and she said not that she knows of, but if she thinks of one she would tell me. I do know that she was a brunette with blue eyes.

I don't think Lisa(Star) was close to her family, her & her mom were estranged, & those housemates of hers were non-social, they gave her grief when she came to see me, I suspect their opinion of me is not good, otherwise they would have called & talked to me directly as well, why they may dislike me is anyone's guess, I mean, she made it back in one piece, you would think they would have called me, her sister had to have known who I was....maybe they were to grief-stricken to talk about it themselves, but you would think by now they would have called, I don't think Lisa was close to any of them, I think she may have been treated differently from her sister, after all her sister toed the line & settled down & had kids & was quote: "Normal", whereas Lisa lived her life as she saw fit, that seems to be the norm in society, if women don't settle down & have kids something must be wrong with them, this was the impression I got in our many conversations & heaven forbid I make her happy, I have a pretty good idea the kind of people they are....they too according to Lisa had "Trump Derangement Syndrome" too....maybe that is it, they knew I was a Trump guy.

Aww, she was indeed a cutie alright. As for her family, I do know that she loved her father very much, who had passed away some years earlier, and she always made sure to post a favorite country song or two of his in dedication to him on his birthdays every year. Plus, she really loved her nieces dearly and would babysit them often. And of course she loved her cats, including the latest one that she got, Bandit.
I do remember her telling me about her housemates too and how she did not get along with them very well, and that they were absolute Trump haters.

Yes, Star was definately a cat lover, one of the many things we had in common, Bandit was her favorite though, those housemates were elderly folks, they acted like her presence was annoying but yet didn't like her coming to spend a week with me, I remember being on the phone with her & the elderly woman was giving her grief about it, they were so afraid she might move out I guess, had it not been for her parrot she might have, she was concerned he wouldn't survive the move, which I agreed, I so wish I could have got her here with me for good, I really think she would have got better treatment in Nashville than she got in San Jose, CA, Nashville is the healthcare capital in the U.S.....but then again she had a condition very few people survive, this is what ticks me off about the snowflakes & the "Social Justice LOSERS".....instead of complaining about Trump & every other stupid thing they whine about, they should be grateful they have another day to breathe, you never know when your body is going to fail you & when it does "Social Justice Losers", none of your whining & Trump Derangement Syndrome is going to matter, these "Social Justice Losers" will not be able to cope with real life issues such mean bosses, a failed marriage, the harsh reality of raising children, the death of a loved one, I suspect many of them will commit suiside simply because they can't deal with real life.

You know Mitt is no doubt a guy who has a Presidential look about him, but that is about it...all flair no substance.....what an idiot this guy is....he has been trashing Trump these past few days....Mitt wishes he was half the man Trump is, In 2012 the economy still sucked, real estate was still in the gutter, people were still unemployed, not much had changed in 4 years under Obama, it should have been a slam dunk for Romney to capitalize on Obama's failure as a President, not only that, the Bengazi mishap was all over the news in the fall of 2012, yes, Romney took it to Obama in the first debate, but in the second & third debate he let Obama talk down to him & Obama handed him his a**!!!.....you know if Mitt had taken it to Obama in that 3rd debate the way Trump took it to Hillary.....he might be President today.....the jealousy is all over Mitt & it shows.

Politicians like Mitt just don't seem to get it yet, people are growing weary of the constant daily attacks against Trump from the likes of him and the fake news media. He's a big fake and phony and people can see right through his act. He's already feeling the backlash from his latest anti-Trump words and is only digging himself in even deeper. If he doesn't get with the program soon and actually start doing something productive and constructive for the Republican party then he's only going to find himself getting lost in the shuffle come 2020.

Seriously though, even Mitt's own niece, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel disagreed with his op-ed attack against Trump and tweeted...
"POTUS is attacked and obstructed by the MSM media and Democrats 24/7. For an incoming Republican freshman senator to attack @realdonaldtrump as their first act feeds into what the Democrats and media want and is disappointing and unproductive."
Plus she had this to say in a recent interview...

I know Bitter saw the first "Fifty Shades of Grey" but I don't know her thoughts on the 2nd & 3rd movie....the first film is the best one, still can't believe they passed on Felicity Jones in the Anatasia role  , Star got to live out her fantasy with me  , that week went by too fast , Bitter could have too back in 2013 when her & her pal Allie were going on about that, I think that guy George was their fixation then, Allie of course dropped out of sight never to be heard from again, & Bitter, well, who knows....I do remember you & Bitter liking mine & Star's sex talk on Amazon, we were posting all night, luckily I was on vacation that week, who knew where it would lead then, almost 3 years now, has it been that long? |

Amazon has gotten too big, they should have kept the forums, but they didn't care, when you have a monopoly outside of Ebay.....you don't have to care, I mean Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy & some Barnes & Noble stores still carry DVD's & Blu-Ray, but not like they used to, my local stores have the isles getting smaller & smaller, I sure miss Media Play & Tower Records.
Hey, Rock I just bought a Blu-Ray player, haven't hooked it up yet, I know you have talked about certain movies you have gotten on Blu-Ray.....I hope it is not to complex, I have heard pros & cons on it.

Oh, yeah... Media Play was a really fun place to shop. I used to go there all the time back in the day. There and Best Buy. You're right though, not many places have a great movie section anymore. Not like they used to anyway.
Your new Blu-ray player should be a breeze to hook up. Mine was easy enough. And the machines work just like a DVD player too for the most part. It will even make your old DVDs look even better than they do on a regular DVD player. The picture just looks sharper. My player is getting pretty old now though, I've had it for years. It's still hanging in there but it's been acting up now and then. But the same thing goes for my DVD player, which is even older. Tt sometimes gives me trouble as well. Like, I will put a DVD in there and it will just keep loading and loading while the disk spins and then a message will come up and say "Not Supported". So then I'll have to take the disc out, turn the machine off and then turn it back on and try again until it actually finally plays. Yup, it's about time that I start shopping around for a new player I guess.

I have a Pioneer DVD player that will be 19 years old next month & it still works, when I was without Internet last year I did watch all my movies on DVD, many of them I had not seen in years, I had playback problems on only 4 of them, all of which were "Warner Bros." DVDs....this is the worst Hollywood studio when it comes to quality control on DVD, they were "The Road Warrior"...10 minutes in it froze up, I also have a RCA DVD player I won at work, "Road Warrior" played fine on it, then it was "Green Mile", it would not change layers, same thing happened with "Starsky & Hutch", had to re-purchase these two & the replacements played fine, "Road Warrior" is out of print on DVD, just bought it on Blu-Ray & even on Blu-Ray it has not been an easy find, & lastly "Blade Runner".....I bought the 25th Anniversay Collection from 2007 that has all the versions....those knuckleheads at WB put 3 versions on one disc....& of course it would not change layers, however it played fine on the RCA player, I guess the Pioneer's laser is not as strong as it once was, so yeah I know exactly what you are talking about.....I know Ridley Scott & Harrison Ford hated the voice-over narration in "Blade Runner", but that I believe is still my favorite version, I mean it is a film noir & film noirs usually have a narration....the 1992 director's cut is good too, but I am partial to the original cut, I don't know which version you own but the 25th Anniversary is the ultimate set to get on "Blade Runner".

Hmmm... That is something that I didn't take into account, DVDs deteriorating and going bad over time, or just being poorly manufactured. I suppose that some of my older ones could be deteriorating and that could explain some of the glitches that I have been experiencing with some of my DVDs?

I just checked and I have "Blade Runner: The Final Cut" on DVD in my collection. From what I remember the last time that I watched it, it was a really good copy of the movie. And I also have the Mad Max Anthology collection on Blu-ray and it is an absolutely perfect collection of the Mad Max films that I highly recommend you get some day. I also have a 3D copy of "Mad Max: Fury Road" on Blu-ray and I have watched that one many times now over the years. I don't care what anyone else says, that movie is simply awesome!
