Phew! Just finished mowing the lawn. Why does a job that only takes about an hour to do seem more like 2 hours? Boring! Time to chill with a nice ice cold beverage now and relax.
It's supposed to be a nice one today with lots of sunshine and temps in the 80's. I love Summertime but I really hate bugs. I must have a dozen bug bites on my legs from working in the backyard these last few days. Guess I should use some kind of bug repellent but most of that kind of stuff is poisonous and makes me leery to use it.
Oh well, enough chit chat for now. I hope that everyone's day is going well. Time to go listen to some music videos. See Ya'!

Anyhoo, ROcK, your comment about poisonous bug repellent reminded me of a procedure I had done at the hospital last week. I was lying there watching them open all the little packets of things they were gonna use on me, and I noticed one of them was labeled (in HUGE letters)...POISON. When I questioned that, the doc said that was there so no one would try to eat it! WTF??? Are there really people out there that are so stupid that they're going to eat medical supplies? Daaaaaamn!

Haha! Oh, Yeah, there are definitely people out there who are that dumb, believe me. Some are just druggies looking for a good fix and will try anything for a high, so maybe that's why the hospital is labeling them that way just in case someone gets their hands on it illegally and are thinking of ingesting it?

When I was just discharged from the Army, I temporarily had a job for extra spending cash at "United States International University" in San Diego. Basically wealthy foreigners, mainly from Brazil sent their adult children there to learn English.
So we are driving away up a hill and a large container of Round-Up pesticide spilled over. It leaves a large PURPLE puddle on the asphalt.
I watch as a gaggle of Brazilians approach the PURPLE puddle.
They encircle the puddle.
I watch as their 'leader' places his hand into the purple puddle.
Sniffs his purple fingers.
Then puts his fingers into his mouth.
It was like I was watching Neanderthals
Many years previously when I was about 13 working for my Dads large landscape company in Arizona during Summer break.
We had just picked up a few extra illegals for the day.
This was common in Arizona back then.
I was operating a gas weedeater.
I watched this detached from it actually happening for whatever reason.
So as I'm watching a foreman turns off his lawnmower and reaches underneath to remove accumulated grass.
I'm watching the foreman and notice an illegal also watching the foreman.
Then the illegal walks straight to his lawnmower and in the blink of an eye...
Just crouches down and shoves his hand into the grass trap of a RUNNING LAWNMOWER!
Unforgettable sound "Grunch, Geguhguh, Grunch"

You certainly have lived an interesting life, Tim! What happened to the poor guy who stuck his hand into the mower? I'm sure that he lost his hand but did he survive? Something like that could put a person into cardiac arrest, or possibly even die from loss of blood.
One time as a stockboy at a grocery store that I used to work at I was hauling stock from a lower level to store up on the upper floor and I was using a conveyor belt to do the job with. Well, the belt was moving kinda sluggish from the weight of all of the items on it when I suddenly got the bright idea to try to help it along by pulling on the belt with both hands on either side of it. Dumb idea! The belt suddenly started to move faster and my hands became trapped under the belt and pulled under the pulley wheel and I started to panic with ugly thoughts of losing both of my hands flooding my mind. Luckily the belt was so old and loose enough from years of use that my hands came out the other side intact and I only had minor injuries and sore hands for a few days from the experience.

It badly damaged his fingers. I could clearly see bone splinter fragments protruding from the many gashes in his fingers.
He didn't immediately lose any appendages.
He received a complimentary ride to the nearest hospital.
I never saw him again.
Dad was and is an asshole. Even more so now, with his considerable increased wealth.
