youtu.be/cUS_Ls5CS5sPretty much sums it up. In nineteen months I cannot recall meeting a solitary individual that was shelterless that at minimum did not openly used some drug. I cannot possibly count how many times people have offered me marijuana. I don't smoke it. I was reading by a thoroughfare and at some point a guy yelled leaned out the passenger window and through a cannister full of it at me. I picked it up, yup marijuana. Placed it in the top of a garbage can. Nevermind the interesting evening that I had after someone randomly gave me a bunch of cookies in a mason jar. I knew I was likely 'in trouble' when they looked nervously at me as I manged away and quickly sped away at the light. I don't know what was in those cookies but it sure was an interesting evening. Hunger is hunger

I have also often heard the claim that more billionaires live here than anywhere else.
I recently was sitting in a Bank of America and had the pleasure of seeing one bank manager tell another the client he was about to meet had 2.5 billion.
The manager then completely changed right before my eyes as he approached the female.
Nothing flashy about her at all. That is to say, you would never have guessed that she, in fact, apparently had 2.5 billion.
What was most apparent was the performance the bank manager put on after being informed of such.
I was there attempting to recover a cashier's check that I misplaced. Ultimately, after six months of back and forth, to Bank of America credit, my 420.00$ was refunded.
Yes, I had bought a cashier's check for precisely 420.00$

I have opportunities here, if I can just get housing.
I am managing to save some money now even though my pension is incorrectly reduced.
I am thinking I may try to stay if they can house me within another six months.
What's another six months on top of the approximate nineteen months that I have already endured.
At any rate, whether I stay or go, if I wait and endure up to six months more of this; I would be in a much better place financially to start over here or there.
To save money I often am hungry. However, I still don't go without my one primary vice, cigarettes.

Cookies
Whatever was in those cookies was some form of hallucinogen.
I ate them just before dusk.
After some time had passed I knew they had to have been "infused" with some substance of a hallucinatory nature.
I was near a public busline that runs twenty four hours every day.
I laid near there in a park under my sleeping bag. However whenever a bus stopped, the effects of the cookies made the bus sound similar to a commuter aircraft at an airport.
Very surreal, enjoyable. However, I would not volunteer to go through that again.
So, no. Just say no to cookies in a mason jar given to you by random strangers.
...
Reminded me of that comedians routine about unintentionally smoking too much of an unexpected potent strain of marijuana.
Nick Swardson "Just Breath" (you are just really, really high, just Breath and everything will be alright)
I knew something was up when he remarked something before the light changed after I had already ate a few cookies.
I knew something was up.
So what did I do?
I ate the whole jar of them.
Might as well, I am in San Francisco. If I am going to unintentionally get high might as well go all in.

Finally
After 19 months
I am being given an exception in order to meet with the specific people that are supposed to help me.
VASH Veterans Affairs Supported Housing
The following day I have another appointment to see what the hell is going on with my pension.
...
Everything went haywire around May of 2018 and never recovered.
Over six months of no pension check at all. Then one month of correct pension amount followed by the current rate which is incorrectly withholding hundreds of dollars every month.
I need a break.
Unfortunately, realistically I am hoping at best to be in my own place within six months.
...
To add to my pain I stumbled apon a message that I sent to who helped me get out here.
Boy was I ever wrong with it. I obviously vented and inappropriately was angry with her.
I just have to hope for the best out here. That is if I end up staying.

The only defense that I have is that I was actually kicked to the curb while simultaneously losing my entire lifes possessions.
Still I know that I was wrong and should not have written that.
I actually and literally know what it means to be "kicked to the curb".

I remember the 1973 film "Magnum Force" the second "Dirty Harry film, that was filmed in San Francisco & how the director gave us many great shots of this once beautiful city, the T.V. series "Nash Bridges" was also filmed in San Francisco & again many great shots of the city.....so sad to see what the city has become, however if you want to see the city destroyed, watch the film "San Andreas" with "The Rock"
I wonder what Dirty Harry would say to Gavin Newsom & Nancy(dumb)Pelosi about the city's current state.

I wonder what Dirty Harry would say to Gavin Newsom & Nancy(dumb)Pelosi about the city's current state. Whatever he would say, I would imagine that it would consist of a lot of expletives, and then he would quit, throw his badge in disgust on his Captain's desk and tell him that they don't pay him enough for this job. And then he would move to a safer city not run by corrupt and incompetent Democrats.

The contrast is surreal. Appropriate for San Francisco.
This being such a concentration of great wealth and simultaneously a mecca for drug users and apparently shelterless people.
Put it this way, on a Saturday afternoon recently near lands end in San Francisco. I was flying a sign to get money for tobacco and food.
It is the best place I have found and if the police let me stay for about three hours I normally can get enough to feed me for the day and a pack of stogies.
This must have been about a month back.
Mind you I stay at maximum three hours.
In a span of three hours I counted at least five Maserati's and TWO Ferrari Testarossa's .
It is not uncommon to see a Maserati here at all.
In fact I can even recall a Maserati driver giving me a 20$ at one time or another.

I recently heard on the radio that California is the state that has the most billionaires living in it in the entire world. It's a shame that with all of that money that more of them can't help to do something about the homeless situation there.

As far as I am aware it is specifically San Francisco and the East Bay that has the largest concentration of billionaires in the entire world.
...
In other news the 9th Circuit Court ruled that it is illegal to criminalize shelterless vagrants when there is no alternative.
Doesn't stop police from telling you to "move along" sternly with strongly implied or else.
As if you can complain to anyone.
...
Remember not to long ago I was detained with 600$ in cash on me inside my wallet.
When released they didn't return a cent, nor my wallet and identification.
I was pist. Released at two o'clock in the morning. Where is my money? My wallet? My identification?
Thankfully I recovered everything a few days later at the property room.
My wallet and cash was categorized as 'evidence'.
What?
I personally believe that if I hadn't accepted a plea and quickly retrieved my property my 'evidence' of over 600.00 in cash would have been 'appropriated' by an officer.

Summary of extended vacation in San Francisco
Seems I encounter an awful lot of hardship due to someone else's paperwork mistakes
Failed relationship, Illegally evicted, Everything, my entire lifes possessions including my deceased father's ashes stolen, Pension incorrectly reduced for an overpayment that never occurred, Currently apparently have an outstanding warrant for failure to appear at a summary court date that the judge specifically told me that my appearance was not required.
I cannot leave even if I wanted to.
I am doing time.
I have to go to another county to turn myself in for not appearing where I was specifically told I did not have to go.
It's a summary hearing stemming from a failure to appear from February.
Jeesh and worse case scenario they will reset it for nearly a month from now , I lose my current housing, have to live outside for another month to rush to this court date that I wasn't supposed to have to attend.
...
The worst though is the bullshit the veterans affairs has been doing with my retirement disability pension for nearly two years.
That retirement pension is supposed to be there to provide the basic essentials that I need.
In 2018 I didn't get a pension check for eight straight months.
How the hell they came to the conclusion that they overpaid me when they paid me part of the eight months and then missed three more consecutive monthly payments is bizarre.
Further one guy had me schedule an appointment with him to speak with him at all about it. When I went to the appointment he merely said I haven't heard anything back yet.
That pension is designed as a retirement pension as the bare minimum for me to survive.
What the fuck am I supposed to do?
Why does that guy get a salary to do nothing to correct an obvious error?
Even best case scenario they correct the mistake and send my owed money.
What about all the times I had to do without even food because of this flagrant mistake?
I finally found another veterans office on the 15th. I waited two hours to speak with her. Then had to leave the building for an hour for their lunch break. Then waited a little more than another hour. The service officer there thinks they owe me even more than I reasonably believe. She filed more paperwork, asked for an audit, asked them to waive the repayment of funds that were never overpaid obviously according to current government records and told me to come back in two weeks.
Of course when I go on Tuesday I likely will wait a minimum of two hours most likely to hear again 'I have not heard anything back yet'.
Even though when I saw her on the 15th she said this most likely should be corrected within thirty days , to include you being given your missed payments.
Twenty years ago I used to wonder why I would see shelterless veterans, I do not wonder at all anymore.
Falling through the cracks sometimes means the system is failing you because someone in accounting screwed up your paperwork.
Again my pension has not been correct since April of 2018.
That's retirement veterans pension mind you.
Further I was notified shortly following my first repayment in February that I should expect the balance owed to me by September. Shortly following that I received a letter saying they overpaid me. Bullshit you overpaid me.
Ever since they have been withholding almost a third of my pension.
You underpay me. "We should get the money to you within six months".
A clerical error where you think you overpaid me. Near immediate reduction in my monthly pension.
...
The Federal building here in San Francisco doesn't have veterans service officers like in Seattle.
If it did , like I said, I most likely would not even be talking about this anymore.
Likewise, if I could speak with a Congressman or a journalist with the desire to shed light on this manure.

I can feel good about not going to her house to ask if possibly she could help me leave.
I am currently on Greyhound having said my goodbyes to San Francisco.
I lost everything I own and acquired more painful memories than pleasant ones.
If I were to tell anyone needing to know anything about San Francisco I would definitely lead with EVERYTHING is EXPENSIVE in San Francisco.
Such a travesty how veterans are treated in San Francisco.
Having to listen and read about the poor poor immigrants that ILLEGALLY came here and the awful treatment they are allegedly getting for breaking the law while I might not eat at all... Sheesh
I wager dollars to donuts the illegals housed in the United States for entering illegally have it leagues better than I did for nineteen months.
...
From my experience the majority of the people supposed to be helping are EMPLOYED to be helping.
They "solve" the "homeless" crisis guess who now needs a job?
Yes, I oversimplify to attempt to shed light that from my experience 90 percent of the assistance is at best a racket and a shell game.
I have seen it from the inside.
I also can read the nervous looks on their faces when it is even remotely and tactfully brought to their attention and you get a salary for doing what exactly?
Nineteen months and the very best I could hope for was , possibly, in three more months time I could get in to veterans supported Housing "project based".
I am not shitting you here. Any vet who knows what "project based" actually is would likely tell you that is not a acceptable standard to live.
Basically "project based" are notorious for rampant drug use. They are SRO single room occupancy for veterans, the bathroom is communal.
Just a nightmare that I cannot really adequately shed light on here. On site managers who power trip and can have you shelterless again in seconds flat.
As if I could attempt to live here and return to college living in a "project based" veterans supported housing.
While getting my bad news about why they still incorrectly are withholding my pension. They mistakenly claim , even though veterans benefits records clearly show otherwise, that I received an over 4000 dollar check that records clearly show was returned to them and the date it was returned..
While I was getting that news there was an obvious transgender who told me allegedly that (s)he gets 100percent service connected and has a two bedroom veterans supported housing apartment voucher.
Of course supposedly I am to blame for my white privilege.
Nope, I guarantee why (s)he gets all that, if in fact (s)he does is absolutely because of their LGBTQ status and the very large advocacy surrounding veterans of that group here in San Francisco.
...
In summary San Francisco is a great place, even still I am thankful to be leaving.

I spent my last four days in the East Bay in Fremont.
On day three inside of thirty minutes I was contacted by law enforcement twice, searched once.
The second officer demanded "paperwork" that proved that I am a veteran. Also informing me of how nice he is being for not issuing me a citation for stepping in the street.
I produced my VA card.
After nineteen months of dealing with assholes with badges like that fuckwit.
"I am a veteran on disability and I have a job."
I have heard that from two assholes that simultaneously were denying me my civil liberties and freedom while they said so.
Yeah, a job as a Pig , routinely lying in the course of your job and personally denying people of their civil liberties.
I doubt anyone ever said , "He is so brilliant that they are going to allow him to be a police officer".
...
Of course the first contacting officer issued a veiled threat of be a shame to get a sex offender status because you were seen using the bathroom.
Explains why Fremont is one of the three "safest" communities in the United States ... Gestapo police tactics

Uh, much of what he said with regard to police in San Francisco is horse manure.
Police response is within minutes merely to inform anyone they have been trespassed from a business.
It is absolute melarky that business owners have zero recourse, cannot call police if you shoplift less than a thousand... just rubbish
The police response to trespass is extraordinary
Likewise police response to "aggressive panhandling".

With current events in Hong Kong , San Francisco's 'housing crisis' doesn't come close.
Of note, living and witnessing San Francisco's blight first hand...
I was blinded to the likely probability that same situations most likely exist throughout our modern world.
There are plenty of YouTube videos showing that many major cities throughout the world are starting to have droves of shelterless and or people living in cages like in Hong Kong.
Arguably that is what an SRO is, a cage.
SRO single room occupancy
...
Greed, coupled with overpopulation is clearly the culprit.
Even the police there admit to readily only giving civil citations to those who appear to be able to afford them.
I also didn't know that most likely, many contacts that I had with police ...Well that officer was on a private payroll as 'security' and in uniform.
Not a conflict of interest at all.
...
A studio apartment that sells for a million in the tenderloin district in San Francisco , many Americans would likely assume some self indulgent 'mansion' in reality a tiny, single room hovel surrounded by ick.
