The Weird and Strange Thread of the Mysterious and Unknown!

Hey, thanks for sharing those experiences with us, Roman! Very interesting. I have a few paranormal experiences that have happened to me throughout my lifetime as well that I will share here as time goes by. One of them involves a ghost, or at least what I think was a ghost? It happened way back in my teens in the 70's when I was living in Hamtramck, Michigan.

There was this old used bookstore that had been shut down on Joseph Campau street. The owner of the store had been jailed for some reason which I forget now. [Edit: Oh, wait, I remember now. It had something to do with him being severely behind on paying the city owed back taxes, or something like that.] The place was scheduled to be demolished to build another new store in it's place soon. My classmates were all talking about how it had been broken into by someone and people from school had been hanging out there and that it had a creepy vibe to it. I decided after school that day to check it out myself. As I got there, there was already a bunch of kids in there grabbing things like comic books and Playboy magazines to take home with them. The place had been ransacked, bookshelves had been torn off the walls and knocked over and books and magazines were scattered everywhere all over the floor.

At the back of the shop there was a big stairwell that split up from left to right with stairs that entered to the upper level, just like something right out of an old horror movie. The place had no electricity and was mostly dark inside except for the daylight coming in from the front windows. Underneath the right side of the stairs leading upwards was an open room, and in the room I noticed a light shining inside of it. I thought that it was someone with a Bic lighter in there just looking around so I decided to head over to it and see what was in there, but when I entered the room there was no one in there and the place was black. I thought that was kinda weird but figured whoever it was had slipped out somehow without me noticing.

Later as most of the kids had left the building, I was still looking around the place when I heard these footsteps creaking from upstairs. Curiosity got my interest so I decided that I would go up and check it out wondering what might be stored up there? As I started climbing the stairs I could hear footsteps coming down the grand staircase from above. I thought that it was another classmate or someone who might have found something interesting. As I walked up the stairs I could hear the footsteps getting closer and closer coming down the stairs, the place was really dark but I had some visibility still from the daylight coming from the front windows of the store. I stopped and looked ahead and could hear the creaking stairs as someone came walking down, but I saw no one there, only the sounds of the continuing footsteps approaching closer and closer until they were almost in front of me, but no one was there that I could see, just empty stairs! I asked nervously whoever it was if they had found anything interesting up there but no one answered. Just the sound of more footsteps approaching closer. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up by then and I got so freaked out by it that I ran out of there like a bat out of hell, my feet slipping out from under me while trying to get a grip on all of the books and magazines that were scattered all over the floor until I finally made it out of the store.

To this day I believe that that old bookstore was haunted and that it was a ghost who was coming down those stairs. Perhaps it was even the original owner of this old shop?

Yep, I definitely believe that there is life after death. I have had several indications of that over the years. Years ago I owned this dog who as she got older had this condition that made her have this kind of weird, musky odor to her. I used to give her baths frequently to try to help cover it up. When she died I was heartbroken. She had lived with me for many years and followed me around everywhere I would go as a kid. The weekend after she had passed, I was having trouble sleeping one night when suddenly I could smell that musky odor of hers in the room with me. Now, this was not left over residue from her when she was still alive because I never allow any of my pets inside of my bedroom. And I always kept my house clean including cleaning my carpeting every so often. This odor just came up suddenly from out of nowhere. I knew then that she was visiting me from the other side. Sometime later one night I had a dream of her visiting me and she came to say goodbye to me. It seemed so real to me and really choked me up with emotion.

I've had some other similar experiences to this one that have happened to me over the years that has indicated to me that life does indeed carry on after death.

I believe it. It sounds to me like Star came to visit you in your dream to try to comfort you and let you know that she is doing okay. She told you that someday you two would be together again, but for now she wants you to move on. It's not always an easy thing to do that though, I know, especially with someone that you really love. But they mean well and only want you to be happy and enjoy your life and not be mournful and depressed without them. That was very interesting, thanks for sharing it with us, Roman.

Ah, great topic, Roman! I love a good time travel story. Don't forget about "The Philadelphia Experiment" in 1943 where the Navy during an experiment in order to try to make a Navy Destroyer radar invisible actually caused it to travel in time. There are many books and documentaries on this subject, and even a big Hollywood feature film about it. It also ties into another supposed secret government time travel experiment, "The Montauk Project". Now that one is a very bizarre story if you are not familiar with it and I encourage you to look further into it. And then there is the John Titor story, a story of a guy who claimed to be an American military time traveller from the year 2036 who was sent back to the year 1975 in order to obtain an IBM 5100 computer that was needed in the future to debug various computer programs. That one sounds really sketchy but it created a lot of buzz and controversy at the time somewhere in the early 2000's.

As for UFOs, it's possible and most-likely probable that a lot of them are actually time travelers from the future. How cool would it be to travel back in time to see the Dinosaurs, and other historic events as they happened in our past? Speaking of UFOs, I've seen several during my lifetime, including just this past Summer. It all started around the 4th of July, they were flying around everywhere in my area during that time. They were bright orange and seemed to be enjoying watching all of the fireworks that were going off around my neighborhood. One sat stationary in the sky for minutes at a time, then as it flew off it turned bright green. We saw a couple of others zipping through the skies that evening too. Then in last September one late night around 11 at night I went out back to have a smoke when I noticed this bright green star sitting in the east sky. But this was a cloudy night and this star was on our side of the clouds. After a few minutes it seemed to be aware that I had noticed it and it flew to right over my backyard and just sat there above me for a few minutes as if it were observing me. I kid you not. I started to become a little nervous but kept watching it. After a few more minutes it just zipped off to the north, but as it did it turned bright orange like the ones that we saw during the 4th of July. Now, I am not saying that these were aliens or anything. I don't know who or what they were, but that's what I saw.
