With Halloween quickly approaching, I have been watching some horror movies lately and one that I saw last night was pretty darned good. It is titled "Tales of Halloween" and I watched it on Netflix. It is an anthology of 10 short stories, some scary, some creepy, and others are just downright silly, cheesy and fun. It's a perfect flick to watch for this time of year. So if you are looking for something new and exciting to watch this coming Halloween then go check this one out, you won't be disappointed.TALES OF HALLOWEEN - Official Trailer

I watched another decent horror flick last night on Netflix titled, "The Rezort". It's a movie about the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse where years later after the war against the living dead has been won and the world is slowly rebuilding itself from all of the devastation, somewhere on a remote island where thousands of zombies are still wandering about, an entrepreneur builds a resort on the island to allow vacationers to visit there for the sole purpose of hunting and killing the zombies. Think "Jurassic Park" meets "The Walking Dead" is the best way to describe this one. It was actually a really good movie with lots of intense scenes of suspense, scares and action. If you haven't already had your fill of zombie movies by now then give this one a try for some chills and thrills this season.THE REZORT - Official Trailer

Here's another zany movie trailer, this time about giant mutant killer ants, just like how they used to make 'em back in the 1950's. I love a good, cheesy, dumb Horror flick!DEAD ANT Official Trailer (2017) Jake Busey Horror Comedy Movie HD "PLOT: When the 1989 "one-hit-wonder" glam-metal band "Sonic Grave" embark on a trip to coachella in hopes of a comeback, their peyote trip pit stop in Joshua Tree incites an "unworldly" vicious attack, and they must "rock" themselves out of harms way."

"Oh, & Happy Halloween".....Connell Cockran (Halloween III)
Since you are a John Carpenter fan, Rock, I was wondering if you ever saw 1998's "Vampires" with James Woods, this film really didn't have a beginning or end, might as well have been a sequel to "From Dusk til Dawn"
Favorite Vampire films....
The Lost Boys (1987) Dark Shadows Revival mini-series (1991) Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) From Dusk til Dawn (1996) Dracula Untold (2014)
Favorite Horror films in general.....
The Amityville Horror (1979) The Shining (1980) Deadly Blessing (1981) The Howling (1981) The Boogens (1981) Hell Night (1981) Poltergeist (1982) The Thing (1982) Halloween III (1982) Psycho II (1983) Christine (1983) A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) Psycho III (1986) Creepshow 2 (1987) Child's Play 1 & 2 End of Days (1999) What lies beneath (2000) The Hitcher (1986/2007) Vacancy (2007) P2 (2007) I am Legend (2007) The Thing Prequel (2011) Red Riding Hood (2011)

I believe that they recently released a collector's edition of it recently and I had been considering purchasing it. I have seen most all of Carpenter's movies, the only one that I haven't seen yet is "In the Mouth of Madness" starring Sam Neill. I should go check Netflix to see if they have it available for streaming. Some of my all-time favorite horror movies are... Dawn of the Dead (1978) Day of the Dead (1985) Friday the 13th (Most all of them. Jason Voorhees to me is probably the scariest horror villain ever.) Tourist Trap (1979. Starring Chuck Connors and Tanya Roberts. If you haven't seen this one yet, you should, it is a very creepy classic.) Motel Hell (1980) The Evil Dead movies Return of the Living Dead (1985) John Carpenter's The Thing Mother's Day (1980) Videodrome (1983) My Bloody Valentine (1981 and the 2009 3D remake.) The Fog (1980. One of John Carpenter's very best films, in my opinion.) These are just a few off the top of my head. I could list at least a dozen or more after thinking about it for awhile. The 1980's had the best horror movies ever, in my opinion.

I just thought of another one of my favorite horror movies, "Forbidden Planet" aka "Mutant"! It is is a cheesy, low budget knock-off of "Alien" produced by Roger Corman. This movie was a total trip! I first saw it in the theater the year that it was released and have been a big fan of it ever since. Make sure to watch it in the dark for maximum chills and thrills, kids. Forbidden World (1982) - Official Trailer (NSFW) Although not the best copy of it, you can watch it for free here on You Tube, until they delete it, that is.Mutant ~ Forbidden World / Sci Fi Horror Films 1982

The 1980's had the best horror movies ever, in my opinion. I actually saw the "Tourist Trap".....I hated seeing Tanya Roberts get killed off... "Return of the Living Dead"......that was a crazy movie......liked the "tar man" in the basement "Videodrome"......this one is partly responsible for my S/M craving... "My Bloody Valentine"........the old man at the bar......I knew a guy like that once.... Never saw "The Fog".....I remember seeing it at video stores back in the day, but never got around to seeing that one.
